There is talk going around that this might be one of the biggest Davis High teams in years. n. " off the five Region Four teams again. Attending Woods Cross this year is a relative of Mrs. Vivian Stapley, one of the Davis High assistant principals. Mrs. Stapleys relative .v made the statement that finally the Wildcats might be able to beat Davis with Ward Sawley gone. THE OFFENSIVE punch might be directed by Casey Lloyd at quarterback. Remember, he was the guy who took the place of Steve Sargent in the state playoff win over Roy last year at Rice Stadium. Of course more of the punch on offense might come from such backs as Mike Robinson, Kinard and a host of others. To add to Davis new head coach, the Darts also have a new assistant coach in Val Cullimore. Cullimore comes to Davis High from Woods Cross where he was the Wildcats head baseball coach and an assistant in football. Im personally excited about the addition of Val. I believe hell add some strength to our staff, said Dickson. BUT ELDRACHER, when he : .heard the comment, noted, It wasnt Ward Sawley, its the entire program that is the successful : story. Casdorph may be 5, fleet-foote- DOING ALL the searching is the Falcon coaching staff who have been taking a long, hard look after the program was slaughtered with graduation. Coach Brent Hancock and his assistants will be forced to select from a group that has no returning lettermen. But the hard-nose- d search isnt proving fruitless because there are some talented football players in the Falcon camp who will certainly prove their worth before this season is over. sometimes grueling two-wee- choose from either Brad Sherwood, a senior, or Chris Garcia, a junior. Garcia might be the better passer of the two but Sherwood has a clear-cu- t advantage in physical Williams, Bruce Browning, Todd size. Fergason, Mark Louser, Mark Adams, Eric Murray, Greg Boseman, Dean Porter, Jeff Folk and others to keep up the defensive tradition. If for some reason the Falcons never do solve an answer to the pass, they can certainly run with the ball as a number of multitalented backs are presently suited up.
