Kaysville East LDS Stake Center for Louis Dickson Weaver, 65, of 41 North 300 East Street, Kaysville, who died Monday in the University - of Utah Hospital of a heart attack. : HE WAS born March 12, : 1311 in Layton, a son of David Christopher and Sophia Dick- son Weaver. He was married to Caryol . L. Burton on October 6, 1937 t in the Salt Lake LDS temple. HE retired in 1974 from Hill - Air Force Base and had also r been employed by Kaysville : City. He was a veteran of world war II serving in the Navy Seabees. : Mr. Weaver had been a of resident Kaysville since 1941 and was educated in Davis County Schools. He : was a member of the Kaysville Eighth LDS ward and had been secretary of the Seventies Quorum, served in the Superintendency of the ; REMARKS were then given by Bishop F. Burton Winters. Military honors were by Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 14. Michael Grant McArthur, 27, of 175 West 400 South, died Monday at the University of Utah hospital of cancer. HE WAS born May 17, 1949, in Salt Lake City, a son of Grant Lillie and Vivian Bowl-de- n McArthur. He married Becky Dawn Branch, December 13, 1969, in Bountiful. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, on May 1, 1974. WAS senior president of Viewmont SURVIVING are his widow of Kaysville, two sons and one daughter, Val B. Weaver of Novato, California, Brad B. Weaver, Salt Lake City; Mrs. . Robert (Kaye) McEwen, Kaysville; four grandchildren and five brothers and one .sister, William D. Weaver, Clearfield; Max D. Weaver, ' Orem; A. Grant Weaver, Og-- : den; Donald D. Weaver and Ronald D. Weaver both of : Layton and Mrs. Melic (Beth) world-famou- : Fadel of Bountiful. SPENCER KINARD ELDER Kinard joined the staff as a reporter, producer and anchorman for the weekend news, in 1965. He received his BS degree in speech and journalism from the University of Utah in 1966. In 1968, he was one of eight U.S. newsmen selected to receive a one year CBS KSL news Fellowship at Columbia University. After completing this prestigious assignment, he spent two years as a writer and producer for CBS news in New York City. Among his varied assignments, he was producer of a syndicated news service and also helped produce CBS Radio coverage of Apollo Flights 12, 13 and 14, and returned to KSL news in 1971. Elder James Kent Naylor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane C. Naylor of 1169 E. Green Road, Kaysville has been called to serve a two year LDS mission to Santiago-Chil- e. HIS farewell testimonial will be held Sunday, August 29th at the Kaysville Ninth LDS ward at 3:00 p.m. He will enter the language training mission at Brigham Young University in Provo on September 2nd. KENT graduated from Davis High School as an Honor Graduate where he participated in debate, forensics and madrigals. He has been attending University of Utah for the past year. He has served as an officer in all his Aaronic Priesthood Quorums. He has received his Duty to God Award and he is an Eagle Scout. ELDER Kinard has been named as an Outstanding Young Man in America, and listed in Whos Who in the Ward. d PRESIDENT Vern will be the concluding speaker. Also two short films will be shown during this time. The topics for this meeting will be centered around The Womens Place in the Church and the Country. On Sunday commencing at 12 noon, President J. Duffy Palmer will conduct and preside at this time. Thur-goo- THE MUSIC for this session will be under the direction of Bro. Vern Mauchley, the stake music director, and will consist of selections being rendered from a combined choir taken from all of the ward choirs of the stake. Accompanying this group of singers will be Randy Gailey, stake organist. Speakers will be David Dahl, Miss Paula Holt, representing the youth of the stake, members of the stake presidency will also address Elder and Mrs. Kinard have both been very active in the LDS church and have held positions of leadership in several auxiliary organizations. Mr. Bennett said that the, Lives of many persons who profess belief in God give no evidence of serious concern about his requirements. CONTINUING, Mr. Bennett; asked, How can we know what Gods will is? Is our situation so different that God must speak to us personally? And he answered, Gods Word provides direction for us in all activities of our lives. THE FAIR opened on Thursday with exhibits for and conviewing public tinued through Saturday with a variety of programs each day for young and old. Senior Citizen Day was celebrated on Saturday with a luncheon. THE EVENTS of Saturday began with a prayer breakfast held in the Pioneer Village Pavilion. Then there was the Bicentennial parade which moved from Farmington to the fair grounds at Lagoon. President Spencer W. and Mrs. Kimball served as grand Davis marshals. Every County community was represented in the parade and several Salt Lake entries took part. The El Kalah Shrine led the parade on horseback carrying the flags of our country. PARADE winners were Kaysville City for the community class with a grand prize of $200 toward a flag pole and a plaque.
