Layton have had as their guests during the past two weeks several members of their family from out of state. Coming from Bryan, Texas were Dr. and Mrs. Mark Young and their family, who have spent three weeks with the LaytonS- Mrs. Young was the former Clauu.a oyion. Dr. Young heads one of the Veterinarian Depts. at Texas A Upon their return home they reported having a most enjoyable time and learned much of the ways and people of those countries. Mrs. Morgan is nearly 87 years of age, and she took parts of the trip, as though she were a teenager. A swimming party for the children of the Layton Eagles was held at the Layton swimming pool. Children of all ages participated and a family picnic was held at the same time with everyone bringing their own salads. A drawing for the Bicentennial afghan, created by LaVern Jones was held and the lucky winner was Jim & M. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Van Dyke and their family, who reside in Cedar City, also came to spend some time here while the Texas visitors were visiting. And many happy visits were spent by Mr. and Mrs. Allan Van Dyke of Bountiful, and Mr. and Modistacher. A family camp out and com bust will be held at Como Springs Aug. 20, 21, and 22. Mrs. Virgil Hansen of Layton, who gathered for some time with these families. Mrs. Stephen Van Dyke was the former Rebecca Layton. Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Lay-to- n have returned to Layton after residing in Colorado since their marriage. They plan to make their home in northern Utah, depending Mr. upon Laytons and Cabins motels are available by reservation. ..Aug. 22, is the State President Tea, at Bingham-Midval- e 2 p.m. are Ladies requested to wear dresses. Syracuse Miss Jeanette Gorr entertained with a bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis R. Briggs, last Thursday evening. The honored guest being Miss Robyn Baggs of Clearfield, who is being married this week to Dean D. Briggs, of Syracuse. Mor- gan, of Layton, and Mrs. Leone Heiner, of Morgan, Utah, have returned home from a months trip that took them to Europe. The trio accompanied' Mrs. Brenda Porter Ehlers, back to Spangdalem, Germany, where her family is stationed. Mrs. Ehlers, came here because of the serious illness and death of her father, Robert Porter, early in June. Mrs. Ehlers husband, MSgt. Wesley Ehlers is stationed with the Air Force, and its base in Germany and have been there for the past three years. While the Utah visitors were there they spent every weekend visiting a different country.
