Layton High Turns Into Camelot Creation Students at Layton High School are getting all sparked up as they prepare for their fifth annual musical, to be presented Camelot, March 25, 26, and 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the school audit- orium. CAMELOT, directed by Ronald L. Petersen, is the legendary abode of King Arthur (played by Jan Chris- tensen), where Guenevere (Tammy Allen), arrives to marry him to prevent a war. In the course of events, King Arthur creates the Round Table, with Knights under a new order of chivairv. LANCELOT Du Lac of the famous table, and travels from Joyous Gard, his castle in France, to Camelot to become a knight of Arthurs table. Upon meeting Guenevere, they fall in love with each other, adding a nice romantic tone to the musical. Mordred, (portrayed by Tony Canfield), Arthurs illegitimate son comes to destroy all Arthur has worked for, which gives the musical a and very interesting complicated plot. THE CAST features 32 - Major roles are also carried by Lynn Speirs, Merlyn; Mark Petersen, Pellinore; Tammy Bright, Morgan Le Fey; Mark Watson, Sir Dinadan; Roger Call, Sir Lionel; Kevin Egan, Sir Sagramore; Ray Whitesides, Tom of Warwick; and Cheryl Paul. Nimue. OTHER speaking parts are carried by Connie Rose, Elaine Rose, and Brian Wood. Admission fees are $2.50, adults; and $1.50, students and children. The public is invited to come and share in Layton Highs excitement, as they present Camelot. dc William Waterhouse, Lancelot, and Tammy Allen, Guenevere. Jan Christensen, King Arthur, and Tammy Allen, dancers, (under the direction of student Cyndia Thiros), and about 80 chorus members, who add much to the color and movement of the musical. The music is supervised by Paul E. Christensen, and such as numbers Camelot, Where Are the Simple Joys Cest Moi, of Maidenhood, How to Handle A Woman, and I Loved You Once In Silence, will captivate the listening audiences.
