Show WEEKLY REFLEX DAVIS NEWS JOURNAL. NOVEMBER 10, 1977 0 Fear, and suspicion oppression are words people living in our free society know only by their dictionary meanings. Few of us have experienced real hardships. Observations On High School THESE CONCEPTS are meaningful to Cicerone Gheorghiu because he has lived with fear, suspicion and oppression since the end of Football Playoffs By DAVE WIGHAM After sitting through all four of the state 4A quarterfgames last week several observations stood out in my mind. These games were held last Thursday and Friday at the University of Utah football stadium. inal THE FIRST thing that sfruck me funny was the fact that neither of the teams w e allowed to practice on the artificial turf A high school football player needs to get used to the turf, with all the studies going into the injury factor involving this type of playing surface it would seem almost a necessity to me to let these players get the teel of it before going ful' steam ahead. I couldn't find out who it was that put a stop to the practice sessions, but it was either the Utah High School Activities Association or the University of Utah people. Whoever it was should their decision. AFTER WATCHING Thursdays games, in which Lavton won and then Olympus won people started guessing which of these clubs would be in the final The Lancers looked awesome, the Titans looked mediocre. True you cant judge a team on one viewing but you can state that the Lancers have a very good shot at beating the Olympus crew.
