He was a member of the Park City Ski Team for four years. He is an Eagle Scout and has been active in various church activities. Well this week the list of run- ning backs is even more impressive. EACH school in the area has at least one top running back. Several coaches boast that they have the top runner in the state in their camp. After checking around with everyone, it becomes very obvious that there are indeed some excellent running backs to watch this season. Up north in Ogden two of their schools, Bonneville and Roy, boast excellent backs. HE HAS been attending Brigham Young University, and in 1976 he studied in Paris for six months with the BYU COACH Budge of the Lakers believes senior Jerry Amidan will be a top college recruit come November. At 175 pounds this runner has excellent speed, 4.6 in the 40 yard dash, and has good balance. The other running back for the Lakers is also back this year to complement DID YOU KNOW Amidan. In fact they are identical twins. Lon and Jon Hansen give the Royals a solid one-twpunch in the backfield. Last year these two also proved they could come out of the backfield and catch the ball. Both are strong runners who love contact. Coming down south a little bit the Layton people feel they have a top prospect for the colleges in Maurice Turner. LIEUTENANT Newey said the road was wet from rain and witnesses said the auto apparently rounded a comer, began to skid, and the driver lost control. The victim was thrown from the car, he said. The investigating officer said the auto rolled several times, ending on its top about 140 feet from where it left the road. He said the victim was found another 44 feet farther down the road. Weber County Sheriffs Deputy Paul Newey said Ms. PARAMEDICS treated both regards to speed and quickness. In Clearfield the birds look to Jeff Trusell and Jim Wilson. Neither of these two are the flashy type runner but neither of them is afraid to go into heavy traffic either. These two just go about their job of gaining the yardage needed, both are complete ball players. VIEWMONT has their best back, at least one of them, back from last year. Todd Jones, who started every game since the third Viking game last year, is back for Coach Jones. Although small in stature Todd has the heart and guts to play with anyone. The other back the Vikes are counting on is Joe Vander-mewre. Bountiful has a list of running backs longer than the honor roll at Harvard. Leading the group is fullback Bill Wemli. With an injury to Mark Dickerson last year, Wemli was thrown into action and performed well. THIS year he will be starting because he earned it. Other top backs the Braves have include, John Hazen, Mike MacKay, Kyle Krammer, Brad Lacomb and the list goes on. Fans can expect some excellent running backs this season. Football in this area will be as good as anywhere in the state this year. KEN Cravens, budget and accounting officer said the Menlove Dodge bid was not the low bid, but met the criteria. 1 The two items were approved even though bids had not been opened in front of the commission due to an oversight on the part of the assistant director who was not aware of the procedure. Investigation is continuing, grb Hayfever News The latest good news for happy hayfever sufferers is used that a new spray is several times daily proving effective in tests in the ancient battle against hayfever and even asthma and rhinitis. The spray agent is beclomethasone. JUST AS new methods to prevent tooth decay can now prolong ones teeth, the new spray, being tested in Canada and in Denver and Seattle, seems capable of preventing pollen discomfort. The prospect, then, is for the younger generation to smile more (less hayfever) with better-lookinteeth if they have (their own) something to smile about for (social security, example)!
