Show WEEKLY REFLEX-DAV- IS NEWS JOURNAL, FEBRUARY 24, 1977 Chorus To Present Concert Shakespearean Festival At Layton By MARK PETERSEN Sophomores are enjoying preparations for the upcoming Shakespearean Festival on March 3, at Layton High School. The North Layton Jr. High Choral Dept, will present a special concert next Wed., March 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Layton High School auditorium. The public is invited and there is no admission charge. THIS IS the Fifth Annual sponsored by the sophomore class, and is free to event the public. Scenes from a select number of the plays of Shakespeare will be presented with the students in full charge of the production. Designed scenes from The "Romeo and Tempest, Juliet, and Comedy of Errors, are being directed by Dennis Ferrin with student directors Brigitte Bavousett, Joe DePaul and Dan O'Brian. Several outstanding soloists from the recent Davis County Solo and Ensemble Festival will also be featured. terday OPEN HOUSE The public is invited to tour the modern new $15 million St. Benedicts Hospital before it opens its doors for patients at 7 a.m. on March 6. The 170,000 square foot facility is located at 5475 South Adams Ave. (500 East), in Washington Terrace. ACCORDING to Robert K. Eisleben, administrator, dates have been set for two public open houses, Sat., Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 27 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Several thousand persons closely connected with St. Benedicts have already toured the spacious new building. MR. EISLEBEN said tour guides will be on hand to show most areas of the hospital, many of which will be closed to the public after patients are admitted. He said completion of the health care complex has been brought about through the efforts of the Sisters of St. Benedict, sponsors of the hospital, and by 133-be- d public-minde- individuals d and organizations who have contributed generously. IT BRINGS to the public all the services of a full-servi- hospital as well as some which are new to the area. Tours will begin in the spacious lobby which features a 22x 7 tapestry specially designed for the hospital by a San Francisco artist. chapel which will be open at all times to people of all faiths. Patient rooms are large and look out through patio doors onto fully landscaped courtyards. Rooms are equipped with full-lengt- h enviro-car- e panels at the heads of the beds which provide a variety of lighting, outlets for air, oxygen, suction, electrical outlets for all equipments and adjustable arm for bedside TV. Color television is provided free of charge for every patient. ATTACHED TO the enviro-carpanel is a bedside console with fingertip controls The electrically-operate- d beds are fully adjustable. When the head is raised, the bed retracts so that the bed-- ' side console is within fingertip reach of the patient. GUESTS will tour the emergency room area which has been greatly expanded in the new hospital and will be staffed 24 hours a day, "seven days a week with specially-traine- d physicians, nurses and other personnel. Visitors will examine the operating room suite with its six modern operating rooms a including special procedures room for such procedures as total joint replacements. A germ-freatmosphere is provided for the suite by a protective corridor and positive air e pressure.
