Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Cloward and children, Fruit Heights; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cloward and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bourne and family of Kaysville; Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Cloward and daughter Mikelle of Anaheim, Calif. The dinner was in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Cloward and daughter who have been visiting with relatives for one who was baptized on Saturday as a member of the LDS Church and her confirmation was held Sunday, Feb. 5 in the Kaysville 5th LDS Ward. Dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Smith Page, Clearfield, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Chappell, Bishop and Mrs. Allen L. Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rawlings of Kajsville; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Chappell, Farmington; and Mrs. and Mrs. Paul Mellin of Sunset. Miss Calleen Webster was hostess to a miscellaneous bridal shower on Thursday-evening- , Feb. 3 in honor of Miss Brenda Christensen who was married Feb. 5 to Mark Towers. Assisting hostess was Miss Valerie Wilson. Seventeen guests attended. Kent Brown arrived from Phoenix, Ariz. to visit with week in Kaysville. Bishop and Mrs. Allen L. Strong, Mr. and Mrs. Todd Morgan, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stacy were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Craig at the Ambassador Club in Salt Lake City, Friday evening. his mother, Mrs. Darlene Attorney and Mrs. Rodney Page entertained at a family dinner on Sunday after the baptismal and confirmation of their daughter, Jennifer, Brown, who was seriously ill at the Davis North Medical Center. Mrs. Browns condition is improving. NEW BUSINESS A new business has just opened its doors in Kaysville at West Center Street. Miner and Young Construction and Real Estate moved into the remodeled and refurbished building which, in years gone by, was office and home for Dr. Walter Whittaker, one of Kaysvilles earlier dentists. 31 THE HOME was later purchased by Dean Sanders, owner and operator of Kaysville Glass, and until recently, was rented as a residence. Miner Construction Company has been in the custom home building business for about three years. The company has grown in that time to become one of the larger home builders in Davis County with 30 to 40 homes under construction or planned for this year. MINER Construction Company is owned and operated by Donald K. Miner of Kaysville who has been associated with the building industry for fifteen years. From 1962 to 1968, he worked in Washington, D.C. for the National Association of Home Builders. In 1968, he returned to Utah and later joined a home building organization in Salt Lake City, where he managed both home and condominium building projects. In 1973, Miner formed the Miner Con- struction Company and began building homes in Davis County. KENNETH R. Young, of 111 North 200 West, Kaysville, is vice president of Clearfield Realty. Young retired from civil service earlier this year career. He joined Miner Construction after a Company and has since been associated with that company, working primarily in marketing. Clearfield Realty, with E. Gregory Higley, broker, of 1054 North 50 East, Kaysville has been in business in Clearfield for several years. The Kaysville Branch of Clearfield Realty will now function under Mr. Youngs Owners of a new business in Kaysville are, 1 to r, Donald K. Miner and Kenneth R. Young. general direction with Claris Larsen as agent in charge. Maxine, reside at 289 Souih 100 West in Kaysville. Both have been active in the LDS Church for many years. Mr, Miner was bishop of the MINER AND Young will continue to build and market homes primarily in the north end of Davis County. They will also be engaged in development projects, Kaysville 7th and 16th Wards, Kaysville Stake in recent years. They have eight children, two of whom have served as LDS missionaries, with a third son serving in the sub- division promotions and other phases of the building and real estate industries. Other employees of the Japan-Sappor- business include Pat Hallett, Layton, office manager; Jim Hadlow, Bountiful; Mike Oberg, Ogden; Dean Peterson; and Glen Toomer, all of o Mission at the present time. MR. YOUNG and his wife, Verle, are the parents of six Laurel is married to Ronald Barton, a Kaysville police officer and they have one son, David. The other five Young children reside at home with their parents. Suzanne Blake, Hooper and Claris Larsen, both real estate agents and Cheryl Young, Kaysville, secretary, will assist in the real estate operation. He gave his mission report on Sunday, Feb. 6 in the Kaysville 11th LDS Ward. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Barton. He will continue his studies at Brigham Young University at Provo this fall. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Daniels attended a dinner party in Provo at the Elliott's Cafe in honor of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Daniels of Payson k for their birthday anniversaries which were during January. Thirty family children of Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Steven Davis of Sandy; and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Yeaman and two children of Layton. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Templeton attended the gun show in Las Vegas, Nev. on Feb. 11, 12 and 13.
