Mrs. Sheffield taught school for many years and is remembered as a kind and an affectionate teacher. MR. AND MRS. MILTON CALL Note 50th Date . The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Milton H. Call was observed by the couple on Wednesday, Oct. 27. I THEY were married October 27, 1926, in the LDS Salt 5 Lake Temple. They made their first home in Bountiful for a short time, later moving to West Layton, where they have since resided. It was here that Mr. Call engaged in being a successful farmer and cattle rancher. He retired somewhat from this about seven years ago. MR. AND Mrs. Call have both been actively engaged in numerous positions in the LDS church. Mr. Call has been an MIA superintendent, and Sunday School superintendent, a home teacher, and too a teacher in Priesthood Ethel Thurgood. She was born in Clearfield, but spent the greater part of her life growing up in Syracuse. MRS. CALL has worked in the Primary organization, Sunday School and Relief Society organizations, and was a visiting teacher in the latter until poor health forced her to stop. The couple are parents of four children. They are Mrs. Don (LaRue) DeWitt, of East Layton, Robert Call, Dean Call and Mrs. Dennis (Ver-nettWilson, all of West Layton. They also boast of 16 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. a) party will honor the couple at their home on Saturday evening, Oct. 30. vsb A FAMILY Announcements Invitations & 67th Anniversary Honored by their many friends last week at the Heritage Center in Clearfield was a couple celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary, Herbert and Elsie Wood. THE TWO were married in Waterloo, Iowa in 1909 and lived there for two years. They moved to Salt Lake City and later Duchesne where they farmed. Mr. Wood delivered the first bottled milk to Duchesne Planning a November Temple marriage is Miss Merrilee Bowman of 313 residents by horse and wagon. After the start of world war I, they moved to Carbon County where Mr. Wood was a tipple foreman in the mines for many years. IN 1945, the couple moved to Clearfield to be closer to their daughter, Margaret. They were instrumental in establishing the Clearfield Community Church and are still active members. Mr. Wood served as a Clearfield City councilman for ten years. They both now enjoy many hours at the Heritage Center in Clearfield which Mrs. Wood describes as a Godsend to the elderly. die For Appointment 2 AFTER arriving in Kaysville in 1910 to teach school in the elementary grades, she met Fred A. Sheffield, whom she later married. They were the parents of four sons and one daughter. Mrs. Sheffield quit teaching school after her marriage and devoted her time to raising her family. SHEFFIELD was manager of the Sheffield department store, a pioneer MR. store established in 1880 on Kaysvilles Main Street where the Kaysville Flower and Gift Shop is presently located. re- & HE HAS 37 13 November 24 in a ceremony to be performed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. THE COUPLE will be honored at a wedding breakfast at the Lion House following their marriage ceremony. A wedding reception will be held that evening at the home of the bride elect. An open house is to be held in their honor in Bell, Calif, in December. MISS BOWMAN graduated from Davis High School and will also graduate from Brigham Young University in December, with a BS degree in Early Childhood Education. The prospective bride- from groom graduated Brigham Young University last August and is teaching at Orem Elementary School in Orem. He had fulfilled a LDS mission to the Andes Peru Mission. FOLLOWING the marriage the couple plan to live in the Provo area where they will work and continue their education. WILLIAM PERKINS An open house will be held Friday, Oct. 29 to honor William Richard Perkins of 40 Crestwood Road, Kaysville, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. - 28, 1896, in Kaysville, a son of Frederick Richard and Rose Ann Burton Perkins. He has resided in Kaysville all his life. ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1916, he was married to Mamie Coombs in the Salt Lake Temple. He has been active in the LDS Church serving in many of the various auxiliary organizations, has been a genealogical worker for his family organization and served in many political and civic positions. HE RETIRED from the Utah-Idah- Layton Births Dalene Baker Love and Leon Hugh Love of Layton are the parents of a baby boy that was born October 15 in Bountiful.
