Show 4 EKLY REFLEX-DAV- IS NEWS JOURNAL, JULY 22, 1976 Honored At 80 News Kaysville An open house honoring Eugene Tolman of Kaysville on his 80th birthday anniversary, will be held Sunday July 25, 1976. Graves family since May 28th, left Utah on July 12th to return to her home in Sweden. Jennifer Graves went with her to spend about six weeks with the Linse family, who are relatives. On her way home from Sweden Jennifer plans to stop over in Frankfurt, Germany, and visit with MR. TOLMAN was bom 25 July 1896 in Bountiful, Utah, a son of Jaren and Sarah Jane Burningham Tolman. He was one of seven children in that family. He attended school in Bountiful until the fifth grade. His father died when he was 17 and he left Bountiful and went to Oakley, Idaho to seek work. As a young man he met and was married to Hazel Dell Read on September 9, 1915 in Albion, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. IN 1918 he and his family moved to Layton where he farmed for a short time and then he worked as an apprentice to J. J. (Joseph) Bugger, a blacksmith. In 1926, he moved his family to Syracuse where he opened his own blacksmith shop. two SIX children, daughters and four sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Tolman. He served on the Syracuse Town Board from 1939 to 1947 at which time he became a Commissioner for Davis County and served in that position for 16 years. He recalls that during the first MRS. KELVIN BARNETT eight years of this position his monthly pay was $140. He retired from working in his blacksmith shop and garage in Syracuse January Exchange Vows bhe has completed her basic Lackland Air Force Base and obtained her Tech training in Biloxi Miss, in the administrative field. A garden wedding Friday evening, July 16, united in marriage, Raelene Sue Frecker and Kelvin Haskell Barnett. Bishop Don Deru of the LDS Layton Ninth Ward performed the ceremony at the home of the brides mother. A reception followed at KELVIN also completed his basic in Lackland and the ceremony. RAELENE is the daughter of Ruthann M. Amos of 628 Wasatch Dr. Layton, and Arnold J. Frecker of 5148 South 2500 West Roy. Kelvin is the son of George . and Beverly Brookshire of Jacksonville, Florida. THE BRIDES gown was a full length chiffon over satin with a high neckline, A fitted, empire lace brocaded bodice with long sheer sleeves, which cuffed and buttoned at the wrist. A ruffle edged the bottom of the gown. Her veil was enhanced with a wide crown of brocaded lace. She carried a bouquet of white daisies and pink rose ob- tained Tech training in Biloxi, Miss. The bridegroom is leaving the 24th of July for Germany where he will be stationed for two years. Raelene will join her husband in Germany as soon as arrangements can be made. Honeymoon plans for now are to see the Utah area, as much as possible, which has been very intriguing to Kelvin and once they can be together in Germany and can arrange their time they plan to honeymoon somewhere in Italy. Births In Kaysville buds. THE MATRON of honor was Mrs. Douglas Frecker, sister-in-laof the bride. Best man duties were performed by the brides step father, Arthur L. Amos. The brides brothers Douglas, from Washington, Darwin, and Mitchell Frecker were ushers, while another brother Bryce was ring bearer. TINY Tina Marie Frecker, a niece was flower girl. The bride was ushered in by her father. Raelene is currently active in the Air Force Reserves. Rotary Sponsors Breakfast Excited over the arrival of their first child are Mr. and Mrs. Tony Frazier of 690 North Main, Kaysville. Their baby boy arrived on July 10 and weighed in at 8 lbs. He will be named Paul Eugene. The new mother will be remembered as the former Julie Casdorph of Kaysville. Being grandparents is a new experience for Mr. and Mrs. Richard Casdorph, Kaysville. But they are handling it well. The other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Mupie Mora Jr. of Fruit Heights and James A. Frazier, Minot, North Dakota. The are Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. The day was full of excitement, good wishes from her host of friends and close relatives, and messages that came far and near. ALTHOUGH her actions, movements and conversation make her seem much younger than her actual years, Mrs. Bodily is Syracuses oldest living lady. Mrs. pounds, nine ounces. She will be named Katie Lynn. At home to welcome the new baby sister are Gretchin, Collette, Nannette and Ryan. Mrs. Green was the former Bette Lynn Nelson of Layton. The pleased grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Green of Fruit Heights, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nelson of Layton. Ernest Yaussi of Preston, Idaho is the great-grandfathe- r. Boasting over the arrival of a son are Mr. and Mrs. George R. Baker of 97 Crestwood Road, Kaysville. The eight pound lad arrived on July 4 at the McKay hospital in Ogden and will be named Benjamin Ariki. He is their second child. At home happy to welcome a playmate is a little sister Ann. Mrs. Baker is the former Ruth Ann Tolman of Pocatello, Idaho. The happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Alma Tolman of Pocatello, Idaho. was Bodily the daughter of John Thomas and Elizabeth Jane Wood Knighton. Her parents were very early settlers of Woods Cross, and it was from this family that the city of Woods Cross received its name. MRS. BODILYS father came to the United States from England as a convert to Saint Church. the Latter-da- y Mrs. Bodily came from a family of five girls and two boys. Together with her family they moved to Syracuse while she was only two years of age. IT WAS on February 8, that she was married to Robert E. Bodily, and they spent their entire life here. Mr. Bodily died on July 13, 1949. The couple were parents of 11 children, eight sons and three daughters. Mrs. Bodily has always been a lover of all handicrafts, and has crocheted articles many .artistic throughout her life. The Weston Timothy Family held thier annual birthday party Friday ing, July 9th. even- WHEN A family gets so large that a grandmother cant remember each birthday individually, says Grandma Timothy. The next best way is to consolidate all birthdays into one big celebration. This is what the West Timothy family started to do six years ago. This system has proven to be a great success. No more hurt feelings for forgotten birthdays, and the pressure of trying to think up new ideas for birthdays presents have been happily eliminated forever. WITH FIVE grandchildren great-grand- s, in-la- and children, 28 and nine besides the out-law- s, as Weston would say, the best of grandparents are apt to important things over-slee-p like birthdays. This year with 45 members out of 51 tribe membership, in attendance, the big splash and fun really swelled the Layton Swimming Pool. Afterwards, heaps of delicious food disappeared when the gang gathered for a picnic dinner and visit at the Kaysville City Pavilion.
