Bitner, Layton, Chairman of Davis County Preservation Month invite the entire public to attend a special and interesting n, tour of eight homes and buildings throughout Davis County on Saturday May 15 from noon to 6 p.m. THE TOUR is sponsored by the Utah Heritage Foundation for the Bicentennial. The Miller - Farr home at Farmington previously an- nounced on the tour, has been omitted. THIS HISTORICAL event and tour will instill the meaning of preservation which is making the most of what we already have and guarding our landmarks every day of the year. We must recognize that part of our heritage is in the brick and mortar of past generations and must act to preserve significant buildings Layton-Dawso- and homes associated with our history. PRESERVATION should be everyones responsibility, the National Trust for Historic Preservation believes. Preserve the past as a present for the future. Each time the wrecking ball crashes into an old building, it knocks another chunk out of our heritage, and another visible reminder of our past is gone. ONE HAS probably seen it happen right here in Davis County. One day you pass a familiar landmark - a park, a public monument or a handsome building - and it gives you a good feeling. But the next time you pass, its gone . . . destroyed by a bulldozer or a wrecking ball. Someone once said, We will probably be judged not by the monuments we have built, but those we have destroyed. Today, preservationists are hard at work The Kaysville Utah LDS Stake Relief Society held their annual Relief Society visiting teachers convention on Saturday at the stake center under the direction of Mrs. Delene Bowman, stake president and her counselors. Brunch was served to guests.
