Show WEEKLY NEWS JOURNAL, MAY 13, 1976 REFLEX-DAV- IS Ip Business activity in Davis County increased by 12.9 percent last year, according to a study just released by Utah Foundation, the private research organization. This compares with an increase of 12.0 percent in gross business volume for the state as a whole in 1975. A LARGE part of the increased dollar sales volume last year, however, was due to inflation. According to the report, the consumers price index rose by 9.1 percent in 1975. When adjustments are made for rising prices the net gain for the state last year amounted to 2.6 percent. This represented a considerable improvement over the 0.7 percent net gain recorded in 1974 and was the state for better than the national gain of 0.9 percent last year. Gregs face is familiar to his many friends in Bountiful. ALTHOUGH HE was born in Oklahoma, he moved to Bountiful when he was one and eventually graduated from Bountiful High School. After receiving his BFA degree at the U of U in 1973, Greg studied and painted in Spain for a year. While there, he married, and now lives in Salt Lake City with his wife and baby. Greg is presently attending graduate school at the University, working toward a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting and drawing. GREG USES a realistic approach to his own painting and will use realism in his teaching, also. In his painting classes plans to emphasize accuracy, helping his students to develop really strong skills in drawing. Greg enjoys teaching and has taught figure structure, figure painting, and drawing classes at life the University. Greg has received a great deal of recognition for his painting, including 2nd place award at the 1972 Utah State Fair, 1st place award in the Davis County Competition Show 1976, and purchase award at the 7th Intermountain Biennial of Painting and Drawing at the Salt Lake Art Center in 1975.
