Show Electronics are increasingly taking over the operation of the automobile, the Automotive Information information and can produce it for comparison with a later mileage test on your car. Council reports. THERE IS plenty of evidence in current model vehicles like the electronic comignition system, puterized braking for heavy constant trucks, duty temperature of interior air flow, digital clocks, and more recently, precise control of the firing of spark plugs. That system that monitors the plugs is a development of Chrysler Corporation. Called lean bum," it permits a leaner fuel-ai- r mixture that uses less gas and reduces emissions to a point where the catalytic converter is not needed under 1976 emission standards. GENERAL Motors has announced an electronic system that automatically adjusts timing for optimum fuel economy, driveability and emission control. This word of warningomes from Mr. Archie S. Hrst, Supervisor, Food Coirjiance and Consumer Series, Utah Department of Apiculture. ACCORDING TO Mr. Hurst, in 1975 the state legislature passed the Farm Custom Slaughtering Law which allows an individual who possesses a valid Custom Slaughter Permit to butcher livestock and poultry for another person. Prior to July 10, 1975, when the law went into effect, animals could only be slaughtered in a licensed slaughterhouse or an individual could kill his own animal for personal consumption. This amendment to the State Meat and Poultry Inspection Act provides another way in which livestock and poultry can be slaughtered. IT WAS not the intent of the legislature, nor is it under allowable the of the Federal Wholesome Meat Act, to allow such animals to be slaughtered and to enter com- provisions merce, says Mr. Hurst, giving the meat away is considered the same as a sale and is not permitted under the law. Some of the conditions under which an owner can have his animal butchered by an individual holding a Farm Custom Slaughtering Permit are: (1) the sheriffs office must be notified 24 hours before the animal is to be slaughtered; (2) the animal must be slaughtered on the property of the owner of the animal; (3) the animal must be consumed exclusively by the owner, his immediate or a regular family, employee; and (4) the meat is not to be offered for sale and must be marked and labeled Not for Sale. This identification must remain on the meat until it is finally consumed. DAVID R. WALDRON, I PET while performing at local functions. THE QUESTION inevitably follows: How are we to feed all these pople? The answer is that Americans are not going to feed them.
