LAYTON, DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH o A lot of prizes are awaiting winners in the kite flying contest to be staged by the Layton Kiwanis club on April 1, in Layton. Stuart, Kaysville. Kites of all varieties are expected to take to the air over Layton on April 1, when a kite flying field day is held for Davis county kids. Prizes galore will be offered in this event. There will be a prize for the highest flying kite, one for the best decorated kite, for the largest kite, the smallest kite, and the smallest child to make and fly a kite. In addition there will be a surprise award. All kids are invited to enter the kite field day. All that is necessary is to go to Charlie Adam's pasture. East Gentile Street, in Layton, where the event will be held, at 1 p. m. on April 1. The main rule is that each contestant must enter a kite that he has made himself. Sponsor of the kite flying contest is the Layton Kiwanis club, and its purpose is to teach the kids where and where not to fly kites, from a standpoint of safety. |
