Show meeting planned for 1996 Summerfest Festival Kick-of- f The BountifulDavis Art Center is holding a Kick-Of- f meeting for Summerfest International Arts and Folk Festival 1996 on Thursday, Oct. Summerfest International Arts and Folk Festival is comprised of an Art Yard featuring regional artists selling fine art and crafts, an international 26, 1995 at 7 p.m. The meeting will include a social hour with light hors doeuvres and an introduction of Committee Chairs w ith a brief overv iew of each committees food court with 5 vendors offering authentic foods from their native coun12-1- tries and folk dancing troupes from around the world. In its ninth year, Summerfest 1996 promises to be better than ever. The Festival offers residents all along the Wasatch Front an opportunity to experience cultures from all over the globe, as well as the visual arts by local artists that reflect responsibilities and needs for volunteers. Anyone interested in joining a committee is invited to attend. Other gentle, playful dogs seeking good, permanent homes, where they will be allowed to live safe and comfortable lives are Jennifer, a Yorkshire terrier; Baby, a purebred, neutered English Setter; Satch, an American Eskimo pup, Rosie, an intelligent border collielab mix; and two cockapoo dogs abandoned at a veterinary clinic. To visit any of these lovable companion dogs and see that they get good homes before the holidays, call Wasatch Humane, Or visit them, plus Wasatch Humanes cats and kittens on Sunday at PETsMART in Layton. Remember, tis the season for witches, bats and scardy cats. In addition to looking after the g and safety of your children, please animals safely indoors the week of keep your Halloween. Make sure your pets have current identification tags, in case they escape and get lost during this dangerous holiday. For safetys sake, keep them confined in a room away from the busy front door. Store Halloween candy in high cupboards where furry noses and paws different perspectives of our own culture. Dedicated volunteers are the key to the success of Summerfest. Literally thousands of hours are invested by individuals, service clubs, high school groups and corporate groups. Davis County individuals take the dancers into their homes for the week, providing room and board, and receiving a unique opportunity to interact with and learn from people from a different culture. donations from area businesses and sponsorship from area businesses also contribute to the success of the Festival. Volunteers are needed to work in all capacities, such as publicity and promotion, housing, park setup, the Art Yard, concessions, the Childrens Art Yard, and much more.
