Show H Hi i Notes With the closing of another I great year for Bountiful High the curtain is dropped on one aspect of its existence never tobe tobe to tobe be raised again There will never be another year just like the one just closing It is the last year that Bountiful Bountiful Bountiful Boun Boun- will vili operate on a limited basis as a two year high school It has been a year of limited and restricted facilities of the extended construction Some felt at the beginning of the year that just nothing could be done in the way of activities and fun with no gym and no auditorium However the resourcefulness resourcefulness re re- re- re of the officers and the student body and the understanding understanding understanding under under- standing and cooper cooperation tion of the faculty have produced wonder wonder- wonderful ful tl things The cafeteria for assemblies assemblies assemblies as as- and ward halls and the auto mechanics shop for dances have brought forth some of the best assemblies and dances ever held at Bountiful A church gymnasium for the basketball team and a bowling program during the most winter winter winter win win- ter months have helped to put over a physical education program program program pro pro- gram that was both interesting and adequate The radio of the theair theair theair air shows over the public address address address ad ad- dress system of the school under the he direction of Mrs Gill and her speech students have added much and filled in for entertainment entertainment entertainment entertain entertain- ment instruction and enlightenment enlightenment enlightenment on activities when an assembly assembly assembly as as- just could not be work- work ed All An in all it has been a unique year under most unusual condi condi- As a climax the Bountiful High was host to hundreds of parents and patrons of the school on Tuesday Mayy 22 at its annual annual annual an an- nual spring festival It was the first function held in the now completed new gymnasium and reaction of all who wh vh saw it surely made it an activity that should bring joy and satisfaction to students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents and teachers alike who had anything to do with its presenta presenta- tion The whole festival was under the general chairmanship p of Mrs Florence Iverson who has become a past master in coordinating coordinating all activities' activities to make it ita ita ita a really great affair The evening began at 7 with exhibits in art biology English foods homemaking industrial arts library and nd speech At 8 o'clock a program was held in inthe inthe inthe the gymnasium that consisted o of a greeting by Principal Miller invocation by Donald Wright installation of PTA officers for next year and the presentation S I S of the minutes and the financial report of the PTA The students then stepped into the picture to entertain the hundreds present The first number was given b by r the school orchestra under the direction of Walter Petersen The remainder of the entertaInment entertainment entertainment entertain entertaIn- ment was given over to a music- music dance ensemble directed by the Girls Association advisors Mrs Beverly Hansen and Mrs 1 Judy Branham Student director of the ensemble ensemble ensemble en en- S was Sherry Rodgers Connie Foust and Linda Rodgers odgers acted as accompanists as hundreds hundreds hun hun- hundreds of the students participated participated participated in music and dance to the entertainment and pride of all present Viewing of exhibits continued L Lafter after the program and parents were reluctant to leave even when the hour became late It II was ras a compliment to the parents parents par par- parents S their children the teachers and the departments pa ing Those in charge of the exhibits were as follows Art Don Jardine biology Robert Wendel English Mrs Maree l Rees foods Mrs Margaret Margaret Mar Mar- garet Jensen homemaking Mrs Pauline Gardner industrial arts Lewis Gale library Arthur Ar Ar- Arthur thur T.
