Barlow Sr Later he worked for forthe forthe the Woods Cross Canning company and became their salesman and bookkeeper under the manage manage- management management management ment of Wm C. C Mann Sr While thus employed he married Miss Rachel C. C Pace daughter of Patri Patri- Patriarch Patriarch Patriarch arch Edwin and Mary J. J Brown Pace on January 6 1898 in the Salt Lake temple In the year 1905 Mr 11 Smedley and Ira C C. Holbrook established a furniture business known as the Smedley Holbrook Furniture Co This company with the Davis County Furniture Co and became the Union Furniture Co The Union Mortuary Co was es Cs- established later under the same management Mr Smedley al although al al- although though retired was active president dent of the two firms at the time of his death He lie had spent 40 years with these companies He Ire was a director and stockholder in inthe inthe inthe the original Bountiful Light Power Co Served eight years as Bountiful Bount ul city councilman Eight years ears as a trustee on the Bountiful old school board and two years as Davis county fruit tree inspector An member active of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints Mr Smedley had served as asa asa asa a Sunday school teacher a number of years year and six years in the Sun Sun- Sunday Sunday day school in the East Bountiful Bount ul ward He lie was a member of the high priest quorum and also finance chairman in the Bountiful first ward Surviving are his widow and six daughters Mrs Warde B.
