Show ; Celebrate 60th anniversary Monroe and Alice Gall Sill of Farmington will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on May The couple was married in Salt Lake City May 3, 1927 and lived in Layton following their marriage. Monroe was employed at the Layton Auto Company. Their marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. On Aug. 15, 1932 the Sills moved to Farmington where Monroe opened the Utah Oil Filling Station t the corner of 100 North Main Street. During his years at this service station, the Farmington Lions Club was formed and he was a charter member. In 1948 he left the filling station and went to work for the Ogdcn 9 Arsenal and from ther went to work at Hill Air Force Base. Monroe Mon-roe retired from HAFB in 1969. The couple lives in one of the historic pioneer rock homes in Farmington, built in 1868. Both Monroe and Alice have been active in their LDS Ward. Their children are Vesta LaRae S. Belnap, Bountiful; Ellen Joyce S. Russell, Fairfield, Calif.; David W. Sill and Monte Sill, both of Cen-terville. Cen-terville. They have 14 grandchildren grandchil-dren and 11 great-grandchildren. The couple will be honored with a family celebration at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C.B. Belnap in Bountiful. A wedding cake will be presented to them by a good friend, Alice Johnson of Farmington , to be served for the special dinner. |
