Show Ella Nora Allen Hunt directors, Russons Brothers Bountiful Boun-tiful Mortuary. Ella Nora Allen Hunt was born Nov. 16, 1898, the daughter of Ora Franklin and Sarah Ellen Pons-Allen, Pons-Allen, in a little one room log cabin on Horse Island. Horse Island is now under water in the American Falls Reservoir near American Falls, Ida. She passed away at the South Davis Community Hospital V " If V Y j ELLA NORA ALLEN HUNT ! in Bountiful Oct. 17, 1986. I She was a life long resident of American Falls until about four j years ago when she broke her hip in i a fall and needed special care. Shortly after moving to Utah to live ' with her son and his wife she had a serious stroke that almost totally incapacitated her. Ella married Merlin Hunt Sept. H.1919. They moved on to what is now the Lee Kress ranch in Lake Channel, Ida. where they raised their family of five children. Ella was a good cook and quilter. After being made a widow she went to school and became a nurse. In 1954 she married Henry Wetzel. He passed away in 1959. : After Henry died Ella joined a bowling team, a bridge club and became active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She enjoyed ' traveling to Alaska, Hawaii and other states. In 1976 she was chosen to represent American Falls as the Pioneer Queen, and rode horseback in the parade at the age of 77. Ella was preceded in death by both her parents, her husbands and her daughter Geraldine. Of her 12 brothers and sisters she is survived by her brother Vernon Allen, American Falls, Ida.; sister, Ber-nice Ber-nice Hemrich, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; Rosella Allen, Burley, Ida.; Mary Mickelson, Long Beach, Calif.; sons Merlin J. Hunt, Bountiful; Pons Day (Pete) Hunt, Caldwell, Ida.; Allen E. Hunt, Burley, Ida.; and daughter, Mrs. Alonzo (Aleta) Stringham, Oakley, Ida. She is survived by 24 grandchildren, 51 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild. . Funeral services were held in the American Falls 1st Ward Chapel in American Falls, Ida. Monday, Oct. 20 with burial in the family plot in the Falls View Cemetery. Funeral |
