Show I To The e Jeep Posse Sun Sunday un a av Sept e eMy 27 1953 My son Paul fro Jr and I drove to Hardscrabble to do some fishing and look for a n place to hunt deer deerWe deerWe We Ve went as far up as Shingle Mi MP n Creek where we ate ale a before turning back to where we could fish We Ve had just turned around and started down the canyon canyon canyon can can- yon still in second gear when we wc came up a a little hill in the road but to my surprise the water hall hail washed in close to the narre narrow W road so as we hit the wash over we went to land upside down inthe in inthe inthe the stream below We Ve both got out as soon as we could then to find out we were not broken up at all only badly bruised We Ve then got back up to the road wondering what to do After about fifteen minutes to our surprise who should come to our rescue but the Bountiful Jeep Posse There were three jeeps The fellows who were with the posse were Seth Williams Elmer Reed Wallace Vallace Ashdown Dave Lewis all of Bountiful After they figured how to turn the car car back up so that it could be pulled out and back onto the road then the work started chopping chopping chopping chop chop- ping and making a road so the jeeps could pull the car back to the road It was sure wonderful how bow it was done After ab about ut three hours work the car was back backon on the road Then we found out it still would run good It was was wasa a miracle to have the Jeep Posse touring on that road and the way they handled everything We Ve think they were wonderful The road we were on is seldom trav trav- But thanks to God we were not killed PAUL SMITH San Leandro Cal While Cal While fighting fighting fighting fight fight- ing a grass fire Villi William am Wolter 49 chief of the Almeda county fire patrol brushed against a 4 volt power line The shock threw the chief into the air He fell and rolled down a hill Aft After r treatment for shock he took the rest of the day off |
