Why is it that the various corporations in which Mr. Eccles and associates are interested, have been until this compalgn. so uniformly successful in Judge Howell's court? May we not fairly conclude either that their casea were Just and their attorneys therefore lawfully, engaged In meritorious cases, or that justice was perverted by the court which decided them either through Ignorance, inexperience or for personal reasons to the judge. If these corporate cases were meritorious and righteously decided, certainly Messrs. Richards and Pratt are to be commended rather than censured for the presentation of such cases to the court, no matter who the plaintiffs may have been. On the other hand, if Judge Howell rendered decisions in those case that were contrary to the law and the evidence, and did so for the purpose of obtaining favor from Mr. Eccles and hla associates, certainly he cannot now blame the attorneys in those esses for his own corruption and violation of his oath of office, and the attorneys were not responsible for those decisions. It cannot h. claimed that they In any way ever attempted In any manner whatever to influence Judge Howell to render decisions not In accord with right and Justice. Why has Judge Howell solicited aid and support in these troublous campaign times from certain railroad corporations, and what argument did he use to convince, or attempt to convince, the representative of these corporations that it would be to their advantage to Why has Judge Howell accepted an appointment to occupy the pulpit In the Third ward Mormon meeting house next Sunday evening?
