The work will consume two years if not more, according to th contractors, and will give work to bun- -' dreds of men for that time. The local representatives of the concern here do not as yet know the exact outlay but It will reach Into the millions. The Idea for these Improvements is to reach a lower grade and to go more directly through the mountains. The plane which had been formed for the construction work were to take effect between Trucke and Blue Canyon, but the change has been made, and the worst part of the line will be looked after. The original coat of the new work waa to have been In the neighborhood' of $11,000,000 and It la rumored that the cost of thla new prupect will be greatly In exceas of the original estimates.
