Ha Would It la not Improbable that there will be a modern concrete bridge built on the site of the present structure Just within the mouth of the canyon. At the regular session of the board of Mr. Madsen county commissioners made a suggestion to that effect and the board will Investigate the matter at once with that end in view. Sometime ago the commissioners of Davis and Weber counties came to ail agreement to construct a Joint bridge over the Weber river at Uintah. Sir. Madsen is of the opinion that the county should remove the bridge now spanning the Weber river at the first turn within the canyon to the site of the proposed one at Uintah and replace the one in the canyon with a concrete structure. The bridge at the sanitarium which waa washed out by the flood haa not been replaced hut will be Just aa soon aa the water haa lowered sufficiently to permit It. The report of the overseer of the poor was received and placed on file. The county recorder called the attention of the board that the order relating to the filing of plats of cemeteries waa not being complied with and the matter was referred to the county clerk with Instructions to take the matter up at onoe. Frank Gallagher, until recently a bookkeeper In the Utah National bank of this city, was injured a few ddys ago by flying rocks In a powder explosion along the construction line of the Corey Bros. Construction company near Sterling, Cal., and James Miller and an Italian laborer were Instantly killed. The men, were employes of the Corey Brothers Construction company of this city, Gallagher working as a time keeper. It la not known how the accident occurred. Miller, who haa been working for the company for a number of years, and the Italian were making preparations for a blast when the explosion occurred, killing both men instantly. Condon, of this city, almost simultaneously. Tho chief of these la an invitation from Governor Cutler to Dr. Condon to accept a position on tha board of regents Of the Agricultural colege.
