Mrs. L. W. Owen of Salt Lake is in Ogden to deliver a series of lectures u the teachers and pupils of the publA ic schools. Among those other than missionaries aboard were Brigham T. Cannon and wife of Salt Lake, en. route to Europe on their, honeymoon. The Journeymen barbers of Ogden have decided to organise a branch of the International Barbers' Union of American. At a meeting held last evening In Union Labor hall about sixteen of the local barbers were present and all signed the roll and the application for the charter waa made out and forwarded to the secretary of the national board. It is expected that there will be at least a dozen more names added to the list within the next ten days. .The organisation of the local branch of the national order will do away with the trouble that has existed here for some time. Heretofore the union, as they were pleased to call it, was purely a local affair, and, as a matter of fact, was absolutely useless so far as the protection of the interests of its members was concerned. Under the new proposition every member is protected by ' the national organisation, as well as other labor unions, and gets the benefit of the sick and funeral benefit fund as provided by the national organisation. A uniform male of wages will also be provided, and one of the greatest causes for trouble between employer and employe will have teen done away with. Just aa soon aa the charter arrives a meeting wlil be called and the organisation perfected. WAR8HIP FOUNDERED. Follow the crowds to the Lyceum theater.
