Show DAILY UTAH STATE JOURNAL, UTAH STATE JOURNAL OGDEN, UTAH. FRANK J. CANNON, EDITOR. A BRIEF PLATFORM. . ciples. : THE LOVING CUPS. Citizens"of Ogden, old and young, should visit the store of John S. Lewis & Company within the next twenty-fou- r hours, and see the magnificent loving cups which are on exhibition there the awards which were made at the recent irrigation congress. To study them closely is to learn something of the splendor of the silversmith's art which in these modern times closely approaches the glory of the Benvenuto Cellini period. Nothing more beautiful in this form of metal can be conceived. In addition to the great money worth and the much greater artistic worth of these loving cups, there is a special significance attached to the one which was awarded for the best growth of sngar beets. That cup was won by Utah. When exhibited at the worlds fair it will attract the attention of millions of people to the possibilities of the intermountain country as an agricultural region; and the good which will result therefrom cannot be measured by one generation of time nor by many millions of money. Let the school children see the loving cups before they shall be sent away from Ogden. -- - - CLEVELAND is FOR PARKER. The very frank statement of APRIL 1904. It is all good; for it means that the Democrats of the United States understand the necessity of Getting Together. so-call- ed The Washington Times, Republican, suggests the following for a Democratic platform this year: 1. The Times, which is devotedly intends to be sarcastic; but it has made a valuable suggestion to the Democracy. We are against the Republican party on general principles. Both as leading woman In the famous stock company of the Lyceum theater In New Tork and as leading woman with Mr. John Drew, Miss Irving won enviable repute as an actress of great personal beauty and charm as well as ability. She has for years' been recognized as one of the most beautiful women on the American stage. Indeed nothing but her own Innate modesty has kept her from becoming a profeslsonal beauty. Miss Irving has, however, frowned on all efforts to laud her good looks, preferring to be known as a skilled and Charming actress. BRIEF TELEGRAMS. Folk HIS NEW MACHINE.
