No statement of the nature of the conference could be obtained from Mr. Bailey last night, but it Is understood that In view of the statements made by Garcia after, he received hla almoet fatal wound, Sullivan is satisfied to let the appeal for a new trial, which is now before the Supreme court drop. Woolgrowers, both Urge and small, are assembled this afternoon In the armory hall at Salt Lake, In answer to the call of the Utah Wool Growers association that all sheep men of the state gather to discuss the wool situation. Tlie chief point of discussion will arise over the consideration of the proposition of the shipment and storage of the Utah crop in Boston. Prominent Man Thors The meeting will be presided over by E. H. Calllster, president of tho association. Others who will attend are: B. F. Saunders, F. J. Hagenbarth. J. D. Wood, the Austin Brothers, Senator John Seeley of ML Pleasant, Enos Neniun of Vernal, Walter James of Provo, J. 8. Peery of Ogden and many others. An indication or the soundness, from a growers standpoint, of the movement, to ship the wool east has been noticed ever since its inception, by the attempts of the commission buyers to do everything possible to discourage It. The officers of the association have been besieged by the' buyers who represented that nothing but loss or at least no gain could be made by shipping the wool east Much Weed on Hand Their attitude Is explained from the fact that the commission houses have now on hand millions of pounds of wool bought last year at from 20 to 22 cents per pound. The market Is lower this year, and In an effort to get even the houses have attempted to bear the market so that wool might be pur chased In the west at from 10 to 12 IS VERY HOPEFUL cents, thus making up the loss by throwing the whole lot on the market at around 12 cents.
