Judson Smith, son of Dr. D. N. Smith, left here for Mt. Minville, Ore., Monday night for the purpose of entering the McMinville Baptist college, which opens the 21st. He expects to le gone until the end of the college year. The suit between George J. Kelley and David Morgan, In which Kelley sued Morgan for $177 on a promissory note, was decided in the municipal court yesterday afternoon. Plaintiff secured Judgment for the amount asked for. The Workingmen's Republican club, located on Twenty-fourt- h street, nearly opposite the Union Labor hall,opens Its doors to members tonight. In a few days the club expects Candidate Cutler and other Republican leaders to come from Salt Lake to address Us members. The ft re was extinguished before any damage was done. Oscar E. Groshell and Miss Edna Burg of Salt Lake were quietly mar rled In Ogden yesterday by John Bluth, deputy county clerk. THREE ALLEGED THIEVES ARE ARRAIGNED. Roy Griffin and Maud Mahan Will Appear on Saturday and Answer Charges Against Them. A brief session of the Second district court was held today but no buswas iness of any great Importance transacted. The Jurors were present In the court but were excused from further attendance until the 28th. Harry Hill, Thomas Admire and Charles Ashton were arraigned on a charge of grand larceny and were ordered to plead to the charge on Saturday. As the men had no attorney to defend them Elijah Farr was appointed to perform this duty. The trio are victims of the morphine habit, being perfect slaves to the drug. The young man, who la employed In the Munsey cigar store on Twenty-fourt- h street, had In his hand a bottle of gasoline and waa In the act of filling a cigar lighter. In pouring the gasoline he carelessly permitted It to overflow so that his hand and arm was completely covered with the fluid.
