Show 1 tf v cdRinrjE DAILY JOURNAL. W following TJk Mr. House is extending bis system, of water pipes, on different streets, both north and south of the track. Colorado street is to lie served with a h as n far. pipe up 9th street, whence an inch pipe is to "convey water hlong 9th to Montana street where. Mr. Hollister is building. A small pipe Jrotn Montana carries water northward alonj; 6th to and past Hardonlmvoks stables. A pipe lias . been laid on North Front as far as 6th street. Mr. House is prepared to extend these pipes wherever water may 1m needed. He has beeti at a n - ex pense of neh rly $ 1 so far, but he has got a good thing, certain to give him as handsome an as a man need want. Going into the enterprise .when he did and as he did, showed a faith in the future of the place exhibited by fear. It is a good example of enterprise, and of how sagacity is usually rewarded in the west. Some day, no doubt, Box Elder Canvon will Im made tho source of supply instead of Bear lliver. The water of the latter is quite tolerable, with ice, and much better served through iron pipes than in tanks, hut there is better water of course; 4 ?
