Something over a year ago Councilman George Redden and a fewr of the business men of this city undertook to work up the proposition of establishing a hank here. The Deseret Nat-a ional of Sait Lake agreed to take certain amount of stock if the citizens here would take hold of the matter and do their part. Tills was pretty well under way when other parties stepped in and also tried to start a bank. Neither propositions matured. Mr. Redden and associates would not give up. however, and kept working at the propcsitlon until Messrs. James Pingree of Ogden and James A.
