Rapes in the state reached their highest rate in the month of July, with April next in number. In Salt Lake County last year there were 56 rapes. The clearance rate for the state is 51 per cent. Robberies occur most frequently on the highway, and last year a net of robberies were $51,042 was stolen from motorists.
