Show 1 f CLEARFIELD COURIER, Jan. 1 7, 1 979, Pag 1 1 Cisco run rising to peak level A' The Bear Lake cisco run is now in full swing. The first cisco were caught last Saturday. The peak of the spawning run is expected to be from Wednesday through the weekend. Ice presently covers the lake and dip netters are cutting through four to six inches of ice to get at the spawning cisco. Fishermen are reminded that a 1979 fishing license is required and as in past years the limit for licensed fishermen is 50 cisco daily and in possession. For fishermen under the age of 12 the limit is 25 cisco and if under the age of 6 the fish must be included in the limit of the licensed fisherman who must accompany the juvenile. The road conditions on the east side of the lake are very treacherous with ice and snow covering the roadway. Fishermen should go prepared for very cold winter weather conditions. In 1969, a few years after Alison had proved that a girl could race for ten kilometers without keeling over, the U.S. formed its first women's team, and Alison was on it. I grew up feeling unaccepted as an athlete," she says, describing how awkward it was for her to go out running during the noon hour in East Wenatchee, Wash., where she went to high school. In 1974, after five years on the team, Alison retired. She went to college in X-- X-- Cutthroat and rainbow trout are also being caught through the ice in 30 to 70 feet of water.
