Wash and peel and take the seeds out of the zucchini. Also remove seeds from the peppers Cut the squash and peppers into one inch cubes. Cover with cup of plain salt (not iodized). Put three trays of ice cubes on top and let stand for 3 hours. Drain. Cover with cold water. Drain again. Make a syrup of 5 cups sugar, 5 cups white vinegar, '2 T celery seed and 1 T turmeric. Add to vegetables. Bring to a rapid boil. Seal in Nanette Manning and Jan Redden.
