Show CLEARFIELD COURIER, April 27, 1978, SUN CHRONICLE, April 28, 1 978, Page Page 5 5 Women set meet Mrs Lenor Romney will be the featured guest speaker at the first annual meeting of the Utah Association of Women (UAof W) announced Mrs Nina W Palmer, chairman of the Association The two-da- y meeting is scheduled for April 28 and 29, at the Salt Palace and is open to membership and invited guests Mrs Lenor Romney has been tremendously active in political and civic affairs and was rated by the Associated Press as one of the nations top ten women News Makers in 1970. Wife of former Governor George Romney, she is the recipient of countless awards and honors, a few of which are: The Aw'ard of the Hadassah Womens of Organization Zionist America (1967), the Silver Medallion from the National ference of Christians Con- and Board of the International leader- Jews for inspiring Council of Women In 1961 74 Mrs Jacobson was General President of the Young ship in rearing children of good will (1967), and the Church Woman of the Year award from Womens Mutual Association of the LDS Church Representative Georgia Peterson will also speak during the opening session Her topic will deal with the in developments Women's moxement since Houston Representatixe Peterson has serxed in the for State Legislature years She also serxes on a number of State, Regional and National organizations such as the Western Council of State Legislators, the National Legislatixe Conference, The State PTA and Die Board of Trustees of the Cottonwood Hospital The Conference will feature six workshops regarding several topics which are of prime interest currently, and they will be Religious Heritage of America (1972) Currently, Mrs. Romney serves on the Y.W.C.A. World Council, she is on the Advisory Board of the Jefferson Research Center, she is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow and among several other things, Mrs Romney is a commentator for WJR radio in Michigan. Mrs. Romney will speak at the banquet on Friday night of the UAofW Conference at 7 p m. at the Salt Palace The keynote address for the opening session of the conference will be given by Mrs Florence Jacobson who has served for several years on the Executive Board of the National Council of Woman (NCW) and on a number of NCW Committees' she is also on the presented by some of the foremost authorities in this area on the topics to be discussed The Conference will begin on Friday at 8 a m with registration At 9 a m the first plenary session will begin There will be a lunch break at 12 30 p m Three of the workshops will be held that afternoon from 1 30 pm to 4 30 p m The Conference will then recess until 7 p m when the banquet will begin Saturday's activities will at 9 a in with the remaining three workshops Following a noon lunch break, the last plenary session will commence at 1 At this p m session, lesolutions will be brought before the body to be voted upon It is estimated that tins session will last until 4 pm after which the conference will adjourn until April 1979 mm 38" Pad with LENORE ROMNEY to speak Friday . . .
