The competition will be held at the Sunset stake Center at 7:30 p.m. Blue eyes and blonde hair describes some of the characterics of the first contestant. She is Elayne Kaye Brown, daughter of Wayne and Sandra Volker. She graduated from Clearfield High School this past month where she was captain of the drill team. Her hobbies include dancing, summer sports, camping, scuba diving and sky diving. Elayne plans to attend college and then become a flight attendant. She will perform a dance for her talent. She is being to Mss Sunruseft wo sponsored by House of Togs. Mary Ellen Elmer, daughter of Doris W. Elmer will sing the song Corner in the Sky for her talent in the pagent. She is a 1980 graduate of Clearfield High School where she was Senior Class Vice President, a n ember of the F.H.A. Club and has been on the honor roll for three years. Mary plans to attend Utah Technical College. She has blue eyes and ash blonde hair. Her sponsor is Dona Wayment. A young lady who would like to become a success in the medical field either as a veterinary assistant in research or in athletic training is Rebecca Marie Seebreeze. She is the U S. Rebecca has been active in Jobs Daughters and has been selected DeMolay Royalty both here and in Washington. She has hazel eyes and blonde hair, and plans to attend Utah State University. A 1978 graduate of the Clearfield High School is Julie Louise Gorringe, daughter of Hal and Barbara Gorringe. She has green eyes and blonde hair. Julies hobbies are drawing, dancing, cake decorating, water skiing, writing and jogging. She was chosen most unique personality in high school, and received an award for the Lennox Place Setting contest. She has been attending Ricks College and LDS Business college majoring in business managing and marketing. She will present a modern jazz dance for her talent and is being sponsored by Clearfield State Bank. Wendy Savage, daughter of Dee and Lola Savage will present a piano solo for her talent number for the pageant. She is a 1980 graduate of Clearfield High School. Wendy has Choir in participated in the 1979 and has been in the High School choir for three years and has won first place in the cultural art activities in her ward for three years. She has hazel eyes and brown hair, and plans on attending Weber State College majoring in family relation and child development. She is being sponsored by Dr. Dan Benton. All festivities will be held at Center Street Park, adjacent to City Hall. Reservations will be allocatedon a first-comfirst served basis with a $15 fee charged for each' booth or concession (10 foot frontage). If more space is required,, there will be ah additional $15 fee. All proceeds above that fee are retained by the sponsor.' The first Funday event will be a Chuckwagon supper at 5 p.m. at Sunset Central park followed by the Little Buckaroo rodeo at 7:30. On Friday evening at 7:30, area residents will be treated to a free variety show featuring such popular professional entertainers as THE FOUR Rs and the Hales Family. This event will also be held at Central Park. In case of rain the program will be moved to the Sunset LDS Stakehouse recreation hall. Three Saturdays festivities will begin at a.m. with a Bike Marathon. The runners will take off at 7 a.m. for the 6:45 . eight mile contest. Breakfast, sponsored by BOBCOs of Sunset, will be. served at the park bowery from 7 to 9 a.m.. At 10 a.m. the Mini-Olympi- will tending BYU where she will major in in family ii arketing and minoring life. She is the daughter of Allen Land Nora B. Stephens and will present a vocal solo for the pageant. She has brown eyes and brown hair. Her hobbies are water and snow skiing, i eading and singing. Ruth has been on the Senioi Class Committee, usher squad, concert choir, honor roll, DECA club secretary, at Clearfield High School where she graduated this spring. Denise Anderson has had six years and plans to attend Dixie College, majoring in education. She has green eyes and blonde hair and is the daughter of Carol and Lee Andersen. Her hobbies are skiing, painting, playing piano and sports. She graduated from Clearfield High School in May 1980 where she was in the art club, spirit club and a pep club officer. Denise will present a piano solo for her talent number. She is being sponsored by Bobcos. of piano Susan Marie Archuleta, daughter of A.O. Archuleta is a graduate of Clearfield High School where she was on the student council and was a class officer. She was also on the drill team and was a cheerleader. Her hobbies include playing the guitar, gymnastics, skiing and enioving her six brothers. Susan plans on attending BYU. She has brown eyes and brown hair and is being sponsored by Blocks of Clearfield. Oscar J. DelCastillo and his daughter Debbie though some 36 years apart in age are donning caps and gowns to accept their degrees together. Mr. DelCastillo will graduate cum laude with a degree in Political Science and History. Retired from the Air Force, Mr. DelCastillo decided to go after a degree just for the fun of it it was a challenge. Debbie a member of Phi Kappa Phi graduates magna cum laude with a degree in science, business and education. Recreation Dept, plans events news! The Clearfield Big Recreation Department is having its first special event of the summer. Wednesday, June 11th at 10 a.m. the air will be full of fun, excitment, laughter and airplanes! Yes, airplanes, as we bring to you live The Obstacle Course and Paper Airplane Flying Contest at Kiwanis Park, l ight here in the great city of Clearfield. The obstacle course and airplane flying contest will be the main events. Ages will be broken down into four 9 2 years, years, Ribbons be will given to years, first, second, and third place winners in each age group. There will also be winners for best airplane design. groups 5-- 6 7-- 10-1- 13-u- Bring your airplane to Kiwanis Park ready to fly. The airplanes must t)e made of paper, but they can be any size or shape imaginable. There will be other activities to add to the fun and excitement of this special event.
