Many high school wrestlers fast for days to maintain their weight at the correct level. They endure weeks of dreary weightlifting, running and wrestling, wrestling, wrestling. Unusual is the wrestler who makes it through a season without some serious or painful injury. One big reason they do it is that someday they may win or place high in the state wrestling tournament. Recently, during the state tournament, a wrestler in a blue uniform consulted the scorekeeper in a closely-conteste- d match. They talked for more than a minute. The coaches of both wrestlers approached the scoring table and discussed the matter. The scoreboard changed several times during the in favor of the kid wearing red. discussion. Now is showed His opponent walked over to him, pointed to the scoreboard, and asked if the score were correct. The youth in red thought through the events of the match. That scores wrong, he said. He agreed that it should be 3 in his opponents favor, and told his coach. Soon the scoreboard was changed to in favor of the wrestler in blue. The match ended a few seconds later, with the wrestler in A superb wrestler, he went on to win the blue winning, state championship in his weight division. The red-cla- d wrestler, asked what he was thinking when he spoke up for his opponent, said: I was thinking I didnt want to steal two points from him. The desire to be honest won out over a four-yea- r goal of winning a state wrestling championship. Such an attitude is developed over many years of observing and being with people-paren- ts, friends, relatives, neighbors, and teachers. All are part of such development. Congratulations to those who helped this wrestler learn what winning is really about. , with purchase of any of our new living room of couch & chair sets, or with gas water heaters use a direct source of energy efficiently and economically. by Dr. Daryl J.
