Featured this week is a very elegant cake from the kitchen of Mrs. David Reed, 5197 S. 2000 W., Roy, Known Red Velvet Cake, the is aptly named because the cake is a delightful red color. It resembles a rich devils food cake in appearance but the similarity ends there. With only a small amount of cocoa in the cake, there is not much chocolate flavor, but the as a recipe kiiGSB&n moist texture of this cake and the heavenly frosting make it paste. Add vanilla, Alternately add sifted flour and salt with buttermilk to creamed mixture. In a' cup, mix soda and vinegar. Add this quickly while foaming to mixture. Bake in two 9 greased cake pans at 350 degrees for minutes or until done. areal treat. Because there is a considerable amount of butter in the frosting, it is best to serve the cake as soon as possible or to keep it refrigerated in this hot weather.
