PANTAGES SHOW HOW THE YOUNG ENJOY JAZZ LIFE UR DANCING DAUGHTERS, the feature picture at the Pan-tagTheatre for one week is a story of an ultra modernistic portrayal of youth. It features the revolt and independence, the heartaches, passions and romance of the younger generation, but does it in a novel way that has never yet been shown on the screen. Joan Crawford, Dorothy Sebastian and Anita Page, who play the important roles in the cinematic story of modern youth, are all different types and come from different parts of the United States. Miss Crawford comes es Mildred Force, accompanied by Rolo Hudson, pianist, has a wonderful soprano voice and charms her audience with new and catchy songs. Her rendition on automboile driving as taught by an instructor and a husband Is good. Hudson is clever on the piano. Kelly and Jackson in Oh May with Dolores Griffith, present a playlet in which comedy and is featured in the front yard of the girl they are both trying to win, and the scene comes to an end when it is discovered that one is the brother of the girl, having been separated since love-maki- ng GEORGE M. Cohans newest American comedy entitled The Baby Cyclone. The plot of The Baby Cyclone revolves around the ownership of a little Pekinese pup and the situations arising during the three lively acts are evolved and worked out in the most approved George M. Cohan style and the thousands of theatre-goer- s who have enjoyed the almost innumerable successes of this Yankee Doodle author well know that anything that George M. Cohan turns out is sure to contain every element of enjoyment. Gladys George, Ben Erway and the Metropolitan Players are exceptionally well cast in excellent roles and the entire production will reflect the artistry and finish for which Utahs favorite stock company is famous. The new company which opened at theJ Playhouse two weeks ago has already been accorded the distinction of being the best aggregation of players that has appeared in stock in Salt Lake for many years. The old friends who are well known here have become even more popular than ever and the new members of the company are fast becoming favorites with the playgoers of this vicinity. The Five Brachards are clever athletes who win much applause for their marvelous acrobatic feats. Curg Peterson and his famous orchestra inject new life into the various acts. The actors say that it is the best orchestra on the circuit, and the people of this city certainly appreciate the super music furnished by this orchestra. Coming next week in the feature picture is The Michigan Kid in which Conrad Nagel and Renee Adoree star, supported by an exceptional cast in a great outdoors picture.
