Show THE CITIZEN I With the First Nighters eabel actr becc 0 KIDDIES RUSH TO SEE PANTAGES INDOOR CIRCUS Alexander Pantages indoor circus at the Pantages this week is not only a real treat for the kiddies but for the grownups as well. It is a real circus with its trained elephants, horses and dogs, trapeze performers and clowns, and there is a continual glow of hilarity from beginning to end. The aerial Clarks are wonders on the trapeze, performing all sorts of difficult feats high in the air and with no catch net underneath. Sir Victor and Joe Bowers make a hit with their trained ponies and dogs. A kicking horse knocks large inflated balls to all parts of the house and the audience joins in the fun by catching them and throwing them back to the stage. The Three Astrella Sisters, with iron jaws, spin around in midair suspended by their teeth. Adelaide Nelson and her three trained baby elephants go through many stunts from drills and marching to dancing to the tune of music. While these huge animals are bulky and appear clumsy, yet they are very careful and never make a mistake and appear to understand every instruction from their mistress. Mile. Bedini, world's famous horsewoman, has remarkable control over her horses which she makes to dance and step to music. Her horses appear in a series of fancy steps and riding gaits that must have required great patience in training. Her $50,-00- 0 high school horse is a dandy and seems almost human. Among the circus clowns is presented Bozo, the strong man, who through his strenuous work, has con- SaltLahsTheatrs Week Commencing MONDAY, FEB. 21 Matinees Tues. and Sat. alms tracted knotty muscles all over his body. The Auctioneer is a thriller and the lead film picture, showing how easy it is to make a fortune in New York and how easy it is to lose one. The leading characters are George Sidney, Doris Lloyd, Sammy Cohen, Marion Nixon, Gareth Hughes and Ward Crane. Sidney runs a pawn shop showing how some of the tricks in trade are carried on. Of course there is a young adopted daughter, pretty and all that and she has a beau who has plenty of good looks but no money. Dad comes to the rescue with the cash and nearly loses his entire role when a pair of slickers get it, but the police interfere and return the After that everything is money. honey.
