Fox played the leading role of Oh Look in the original production at the Vanderbilt theatre in New York. "Oh Look is adapted from Ready Money, a farce comedy by James Montgomery. Joseph McCarthy, Nat Goldstein, and Harry Carroll wrote the music. Although many of the principals of the company are from New York, the present production of Oh Look is essentially a California one. Not only were the chorus maid3 recruited in California, but Nat Goldstein, a San Franciscan, is the producer, while Harry Fox, the star, is a native son and began his career in San Fran: . cisco. there will be a rush for the choice seats all week. The Monte Carter Musical Review and beauty chorus will stage the elaborate production of Happy Days which is a beautiful play full of mirth and interesting situations, and which will keep the audience keyed up with interested attention until the very end of the play. The feature picture will be Shack-le- i of Gold, with William Faraum, a film production which is in great demand by theatre patrons all over the country, and it is a production that all will wish to see when it is flashed upon the local screen. i mime . Happy Days Featured in the New Play With Lorretta Leading Lady The Monte Carter Musical Reviey of the State theatre drew large crowds the past week in the presentation of The Moose and Tom Mix in Do and Dare. Miss Dee Lorretta, the leading lady, has made a big hit with the patrons of the State theatre. She has a national reputation and from the very first created a favorable impression on the local stage. For the coming week Monte Carter has a bill that will take well and The Kinema has opened under new management, with Mr. E. M. Taylor dictating the policy of the new theatre. There has been a general overhauling, redecorating and new furnishings added to the place and also has a commodious seating capacity. The theatre was opened last Saturday by Manager Taylor, screening When Knighthood was in Flower. The picture has proved such a big success that it will be run another week. Emma Calve Roscoe C. Arbuckle, who was a big favorite with the kiddies at the movies, has announced that he will not appear on the stage any more as an actor. He has signed a contract to direct motion pictures for a comedy film corporation to which pursuit he will in the future pay all of his attention.
