Jones nounce the engagement of their daugh- an- ter, Gladys Lucile, to McLairon Edwards of Logan. The marriage will take place March 23 in the Salt Lake temple. The bride is a granddaughter of President Charles W. Penrose of the Mormon church. She is a former student of the Utah Agricultural college at Logan and is a member of Sorosis sorority. The bridegroom is the son of William Edwards, a former mayor of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. August Rudine Wed- nesday night gave a reception at their home, 776 South Fifth East street, in honor of their son, Dr. Clifford Rudine and his bride, who have returned from San Francisco, where they recently were married. The wedding took place February 21 at the in Shanghai, American consulate where Miss Farnsworth and her mother had been visiting for several months. Mr. Barker is a banker, formerly of Los Angeles and now with the Oriental Banking corporation of Shanghai. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Abner Barker, Sr., were former residents of Redlands, Cal. Mrs. Farnsworth left Shanghai the day following the wedding on the steamer Golden Gate and arrived in San Francisco Monday.
