Spencer, Miss Golda Hyde, Miss Bessie Jones and Miss Henrietta Bird. Original songs were given by new members of the sorority, including Miss Shelley McKnight, toast-mistres- s. Poynter, Miss Ellen Schramm, Miss Elsa Keysor, Miss Thelma Grace, Miss Minnie RobertRuth Miss son. The committee on arrangements were Miss Emily Grant, Miss Willia Robbins and Miss Mary Covers were laid for sixty-five- Romney. r JOHN REED of Denver read Husband, by Gilbert Cannon, at the meeting of the dramatic section of the Ladies Literary club at the clubhouse Monday afternoon. Tea was served with Miss Marjorie Wasson as hostess. Jonquils in a silver basket formed the centerpiece for the table. Mrs. Milton H. Love presided at the table. Assisting in serving were Miss Harriet Moyle, Miss Mary Alice Moon, Mrs. Samuel Kittleman, Mrs. Jubel Hale and Miss Cordelia Straup. MRS. MR. AND MRS. E. R. BECK at a dancing party Monday night at their home on Highland Drive, in honor of Miss Ruth. Iverson and Maurice Wilkins, who will be Citizen TEN married during March. A buffet supper was served. The rooms were decorated in pink roses, sweet peas, palms and ferns. Fancy dances enter- tained the guests. The hostess was assisted by her mother, Mrs. W. C. A. Smoot. The guests numbered thirty. ONE of the charming programs of year was presented Tuesday at the regular meeting of the Catholic Womans league at the Ladies Literary clubhouse. Children of the league members gave The Pilgrim Operetta, written and staged by Miss Adele Tague, a league member, telling in song and story of the Pilgrims from the time of their departure from England until their first Thanksgiving. Following are the names of the children and the respective parts which John Marshall they impersonated: Lee, Miles Standish; Dorothy Grimes, King James of England; Frances Fitzpatrick, bugler; Genevieve Bird and Katherine Nutter, attendants; Marion Grimes and Jean McDougall, pages, all in the costume of the court of King James. Margaret Anson, Eleanor Peterson, Maurine Mullins and Bobby Laramie were Dutch kiddies who put on a Dutch song and dance in truly professional style; Alberta Davidson portrayed the pqrt of the Pilgrim mother and car-- ried in her arms Oceanus Hopkins, the baby born on the Mayflower. Pilgrim children were Ruth Maloney, Paul Harrington, Jack Gallivan, Frederic Davidson, Frances Laner and Grace Mary Ivers. Mary Heitman was the spirit of Governor Bradford; Sam Thurman gave a very acceptable impersonation of Mas sasoit, the Indian chief, with a band of warriors, composed of the following: Paul Whiteley, James Ivers, Jr., Jack Powers, Frank Normandy and Celeste Laner. Thomas Mullins, who was to have taken the part of was taken ill the day before the performance. At the close of the operetta the entire cast sang "America, assisted by the chorus, composed of the following children: Mary Kahler, Virginia Nutter, Agnes Watson, Katherine Harrington, Mary Laner, Gertrude McDougall, Helen Green, Anna Hartwig, Evelyn McClellan, Margaret Mary Morrissey Miss Margaret and Lois Saxton. OBrien acted as accompanist for the operetta. Cleverly executed fancy dances were given by Miss Catherine ODonMiss a dance by and nell, Margaret Parson. There were piano numbers by Miss Genevieve Van Derek and Miss Katherine Dowd. Miss Mary Jane Tremblay delighted with a little French song and Miss Margaret Falk sang a medley of childrens songs in a charming manner, with Miss Gertrude Tremblay at the piano. An attractive number on the program was a violin duet by Lucile Jenkins and Mary ODonnell, accompanied on the piano by Valentine Miss Alice Baynes also rendered a violin selection, accompanied by Miss Mary Strauss and Master James OLeary. The entertainment committee of the league, under the direction of Mrs. George H. Watson and Mrs. Thomas Ramage, furnished an ice cream treat for the children at the close of the afternoons entertainment. Mrs. R. W. Van Derek and Miss Tague were in charge of the program. At the business meeting which preceded the regular program, a nominating committee was elected, whose duty it is to select a suitable candidate list for the various offices in the league at the May election, at which time officers of the league are elected for the ensuing year. Those elected on this committee were: Mesdames Henry N. Byrne, John C. Daley, J. J. Harvey, James OConnor, J. J. Neville, F. H. Ager and J. F. Schraven. Mas-sasoi- t, Gor-linsk- i. MRS. E. O. LEATHERWOOD the Bay View Reading club at its regular meeting Monday afternoon with Mrs. John Jones on First avenue. Mrs. Leatherwood spoke of the meeting of the council of the General Federation of Womens clubs in Salt Lake next June, and asked the of the club members in on the entertainment of the visitors. Mrs. W. F. Knor gave a paper on Immigration, and a discussion was led by Mrs. T. D. Lewis and Mrs. N. A. Dunyon. Tea wras served at the conclusion of the program. MRS. j. U. GIESY entertained at at My Shop Wednes- day afternoon. Luncheon was served at small tables. The place cards were painted in violets and flower pins were favors. Covers were laid for Mrs. Charles Stewart, Mrs. Fred Webster, Mrs. Leo J. Bachle, Mrs. Philip Johnson of Los Angeles, Mrs. Ralph Guthrie, Mrs. Oscar Adams, Miss Ruth Loofbourow and Miss Dorothy Webster. MRS. L. F.
