Police Judge City of Oakland, Ala-- , OIL WELL ACTIVITIES. S. W. Gibson, the superintendent of drilling for the Carter Oil Company in the San Rafael, came in to Price Wednesday from the companys well site. He told The Sun that the Carter expects to spud in there in about ten days. Several carloads of machinery arriving at Price over the Denver & Rio Grande during the last week are being forwarded by truck and otherwise. They are this week getting water into the camp, this being hauled some thirty miles by auto and placed in large tanks. The Carter is spending thousands and will be heard from as time goes on. The company is not talking much for publication, but going right along with work that means meda County, California. Please furnish this office with two certified copies of complaint swrorn to against Child, Barclay & Company, licensed brokers of this city, on July seventh with bill attached. UTAH STATE SECURITIES COMMISSION. By H. C. HICKS, Secretary. As neither the Commissioner of Corporations, nor any member of his official organization, nor the officers of Alameda county will forward any information relative to the complaints, which it is claimed was filed against Child, Barclay and Company, it becomes apparent that process of the law was resorted to for the purpose of discrediting the firm of Child, Barclay & Company, and depreciating the value of the stock of the Bingham Galena Mining Company through publicity, which otherwise would not have been published without subjecting the publishers of the same, to damages for libel. After spending much time in investigating the case from every possible angle, your secretary has found nothing which would justify any action on the part of this Commission relative to the license of Child, Barclay and Company or anything that should impair the standing and integrity of that firm before this Commission. It further appears that nothing in either the post card or the letter is a violation of interstate commerce and there appears to be no reason why the firm should not be fully exonerated. Respectfully submitted, H. C. HICKS. (Signed) something. Monumental Oil Company of which Perry A. Clark, formerly of Thompsons, is general manager, will spud in a new deep test hole in the San Juan fields within the next fifty days. Clark has received word from President Joseph Crawford, Jr., of Erie, Pa., to the effect that two engines have been shipped from Oil City, Pa., to Thompsons, and that very soon the entire standard rig will be in the field. The site for the new well is on the south side of the San Juan river and near the apex of the Hulkito structure. It is intended to spud in with a twelve inch hole, and the Honaker sand is looked for at 1,S00 feet. River exposure to the west shows that this sand is fifty feet in thickness and saturated. We will be glad to send you a FREE copy of our forthcoming exclusive publication on the subject of BINGHAM GALENA, if you are interested, and we assure you that we believe you will overlook an unusual opportunity if you do not at once write or telephone us to fonvard the same. Very truly yours, CHILD, BARCLAY & CO. As the request on the part of your secretary to secure proper first-han- d information from the Commissioner of Corporations of the State of California, failed, in that no member of that Commission would forward the information requested, your secretary on July 15, 921, sent the following wire to the Police judge in the city of Oakland, Alameda county, California, where it was alleged the offense had been com S m EE Tl N G. It is said that an effort is to be made to try to find the old Buckhorn vein from which Sam Gilson and several associates took out nearly $100,000 worth of sensationally rich silver ore about thirty years ago. B. F. Cutler, who spent about twenty years in the Dugway district, and who is now deputy sheriff in Salt Lake county, made a trip out to the camp two weeks ago. Frank Jerdine, superintendent of the Imperial Lead mine in the Ereck-sodistrict, went out to the mine several weeks ago with four men and Is now doing some prospecting on the Tuxedo group of claims and others claims in Death Canyon in the Ereck-somining district. The Imperial has filed an application in the state engineer's office for the water of several springs in Death Canyon to be used at the property of the Imperial Lead. n n Several stringers of galena and gray copper have been encountered in the face of the Spiro tunnel, now in a distance of 14,400 feet from the. portal, according to a report received at the companys local offices Tuesday.
