Show 2 - HARRIED TIMES - SEPTEMBER 15, 1995 POA NEWS The September 6th Board Meeting was cancelled due to lack of quorum. This meeting has been rescheduled to September 20th at 6 pm. Agenda items focus on the annual mailing. Volunteers are needed to help with this mailing. We will be meeting Wednesday the 27th at 6pm at the fire station. Two business items were completed during the past month. An agreement between the POA Board and Lois Oliver was reached and signed regarding the POA’s use of her office. This was voted for at the July meeting. Board member Melody Taylor and Pam Devore finished exami— nating and recounting the 1994 ballots for Directors. This was ne— cessitated by the persistent rumor that the ballots and/or proxies were in some way tampered with, effect— ing the outcome of the election. In Melody’s words, “Pam Devore and I counted the ballots of 1994 and were. more than satisfied with the first 2 counts. If you can’t trust the people who count your votes, who can you trust?" The saga of the big cotton— wood tree at the comer of Castle Valley Drive and Castle Creek Lane continues. The Town’s liability insurance carrier has sent a letter to. John Dunning’s lawyer in— forming him of the Town’s $2,000,000 insurance coverage. A sample agreement for indemnification was also sent. We are now waiting for Mr. Dunning and/or his lawyer”s reply. ATTENTION WATER SOFTENER OWNERS AS THE WORLD TURNS The Daltons have moved to Oklahoma, reportedly for two years. For assistance and/or potassium, you may contact either Darr Hatch at 259-7714 or Dee Trantor at 259-5229. For those of you who have discoVered a brown sludge-like material in your salt tank, switching to a potassium manufactured for water softeners will clear out your system. One such product called “Soft touch” is available from Darr or Dee. They pulled out the plants and swept up the seeds along both side roads and Castle Valley Drive. They put in a lot of hours bending over in the hot sun. The difference is noticeable. They deserve a thanks for their efforts. A decision has been reached regarding replacing the road signs. We will be installing new metal posts and reusing the existing wooden signs. New signs will be made for any missing or bro~ ken. The old signs will be repainted and mounted at headlight , height. Dave Everist, a sign maker from Moab, will make the new signs. Ken Johnson has donated paint for the existing signs. Would Joan Sangree, POA Chair . "Rise...7:53pm-----Sets..8:18am New Moon Magic..Mon..Oct 23 Rises....7:57 am Sets 7:17pm Planet Sightings... If any of you have any of the old signs lying around, we would love to use them. The grader is in town being re— paired. We are looking towards this fall to grade the roads (which we do spring and fall), and to prepare for some graveling. A number of the graveled roads now have considerable wash boarding. Driving more slowly can help reduce this inevitable process.
