Nature sees smells tastes hears feels and breathes the whole world every moment. Nature lives in the moment (yet is always providing for the wellness of the future). Nature is never bored, doubtful, or discouraged, for nature is full of life's possibilities. And nature is free to choose what those possibilities are; a partnership with nature is a partnership with a healthy way of life. As society begins to embrace and learn from nature, we begin to shed light on our own possibilities. We realize we too are bom of nature. We too are at once humble and powerful as is nature. We need not abuse nature, each other, or ourselves for not understanding life. We are not here to hurt or control or become exhausted from stress and boredom. Why should we when we can live life fully and happily in the nurturing embrace of a partnership with nature? Freedom to a choice. Every moment. Nature chooses to live in freedom. We can choose to learn to live in freedom too. - - - - Kaki Hunter Sincerely, Stephen Holbrook Executive Director Coalition for Utah's Moab FutureProject 2000 Croene responds: As Steve admitted on his last visit to my office, Project 2000s wilderness effort is going nowhere because the Sierra dub, The WUdemess Society, National Parks and Conservation Association and SUWA have all chosen to jump off this train headed down a dead end spur. P2isnot just a waste of time and money. It also perpetuates the fraud that wilderness is responsible for southern Utah's economic problems, and sidetracks rural communities away from addressing real issues such as health care, education, and solid waste disposal.
