Show THURSDAY, MARCH 25, 1976 THE CITIZEN S I Newton Plays In All Church Tourney Bobcats Return By LEDA SUTHERLAND From State With NEWTON The Newton Senior Basketball team spent four days at Rexburg for the Intermountain Area North all Church Basketball Rournament playoff. They won two games and lost two games losing by just one point (Score 6363). The Anal games on Saturday. They were one of the last four final teams to play though in this tournament which was represented by 16 teams at Rexburg. Eighth Place Position Sky View High School Coach Gary Swan is a proud coach of his 1975-7- 6 Bobcats. The Bobcats, not blessed with the best talent in the state, managed to surprise their critics by ending among the eight best teams in A-- 4 competition. Five Salt Lake Valley teams, Provo and Orem and Sky View ended in the final eight. To begiln with there were teams from the wards from four states, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Northern Utah. This was really a great honor for the Newton team to participate iln this tournament.
