CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS To vote on the following, mark a cross (X) in the square at the right of Yes or No. H.J.R.No.3 "Shall Section 6 of Article 18 of the Constitution of the State of Idaho relating .to the county assessor be amended to provide that the legislature shall provide for the election of a county assessor in each county of the state every four years, thereby fixing the county assessor's term of office at four years? Yes No ATTORNEY GENERAL'S STATEMENT OF MEANING AND PURPOSE H.J.R. No. 3 This proposed amendment of the Idaho Constitution is designed to increase the term of the office of the county assessor of the several counties of the State of Idaho to four (4) years. Section 6 of Article XVIII of the Idaho Constitution, as now in effect, states that the legislature shall provide for the election of (he county assessor every two years. This proposed amendment if approved would instruct the legislature to provide, through appropriate legislation, for the election of a county assessor every four (4) years, thereby increasing the term of such office to four (4) years. Section 6 of Article XVIII of the Idaho Constitution, as now in effect, states that the legislature shall provide for the election of the county treasurer every two years. Section 6, of Article XVIII, as now in effect, also provides, among other things, for the biennial election of a probate judge in each of the several counties, unless the legislature determines'otherwise, and that a probate judge or other county judge may be a county officer, if provided by law.
