Mr. and Mrs. Merrill were married July 10, 1918 in the Manti IDS Temple. They have lived their entire married life in Weston where Mr. Merrill was engaged in farming and dairying. Mr. Merrill is the son of Parley and Mary Ellen Jackson Merrill. In his youth, he served a three year mission in New Zealand where he learned to speak the Maori language. He served in the Weston ward bishopric for seven years, as a counselor in the MIA, High Priest teacher for 26 years. He also served as Sunday School teacher and home teacher. He served as a member of the Weston City Board, school trustee, Rocky Mountain Cheese factory committeeman, and justice of the peace. He is a veteran of World War I. Mrs. Merrill, formerly Neilson, is the daughter of Peter and Frances Good-se- ll Neilson. She has served as chorister and organist in the various ward LDS organizations. She was Singing Mother chorister for more than 20 years. She has served as class teacher in Primary, Sunday School, MIA, and Re lief Society. She and her husband jointly taught the MIA Special Interest class for five years. They are now engaged in genealogy and temple work. They are the parents of three children: Mrs. Lynn (Shirley) Pitcher, Ogden; Mrs. Charles (Franc ess) Bush, Salt Lake City, and Ly- man Merntl, Weston.
