She and her husband have three children: Bart of Newton, Teri (Miller) of Hyrum, and Kurt will enter a Sky View this fall. They also have two grandchildren. Brandon and Brody. Darlene's main interest is music but she enjoys a variety of things including writing. She is a member of the Ladies Summit Golf, the Newton Literary Club and a charter member of North Cache Chapter of Homemakers, holding an office since its organization. Next year she will be running for the state office of vice president of that organization's convention in Salt Lake City. Whip I cup whipping cream, 3 tablespoons powdered sugar, vanilla or lemon. Fold into jello mixture. A reception was held in their honor that evening at the Preston Elks Lodge. Carlee, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Anderson of Preston, is a 1974 graduate of Preston High School and has attended Idaho Statv University. David, whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Oliver H. Earley, Lewiston, graduated from Sky View High School. The newlyweds are making their home in Preston. Lewiston Briefs Mrs. Robert Barton, Elaine, brought her children, Brett, Kristen Sue, and Travis, and spent a week in Lewiston. She visited with her sister, Donna Dahle and Diane Jorgensen, and their families. Tlie Bartons live at Rogerson, Idaho. Jay and Janet Bernhisel and their sons, Steven and John, have been spending the summer in Utah. They have been in Salt Lake City for the most part but have made several interesting side trips. Saturday and Sunday they went back packing through High Creek Canyon and into the Tony Grove area of Logan Canyon. Clarkston Citizens Visit by Gladys lawlr Clarkston in Sacrament meeting on Sunday evening Speakers was the ward bishopric and, their wives. Music was furnished by the ward choir under the direction of Cherr-il- l Clark accompanied by Berniece Griffin. The speakers were JoAnn Thompson, Karen Goodey and Deanne Godfrey followed by Mervin Thompson, second counselor, LeRoy Goodey, first counselor and Bishop Udell Godfrey. Dr. Kenneth Soelberg and his wife June and daughter, Rebecca of Menlo Park, Calif., have spent a few days with her mother, Mayme Griffin. They went to Provo where Rebecca will enroll at BYU where she will be a senior this year. Sally and William Scholes and family, Mark, Barbara and Bonnie of Smithfield and Barbaras friend, David Kent of Lewiston, visited at the home of their daughter and Karen and LeRoy Goodey, and family, the occasion being Karen's son-in-la- birthday anniversary. Iva and Leo Godfrey and son Alan of Garland and Marilyn and Clair Griffin and children, David, Margaret, Robert and Catherine of Maryville, Missouri, have spent two weeks visiting with his mother, Mayme Griffin, and with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Pollard of Logan. They left on Sunday to return to their home. Gladys and George Loosle spent two days in Ammon, Idaho, with Brenda and Ron Jacques and family. On their return home Sunday they called at the home of Darrell and Margaret Loosle, in Moreland, Idaho. Leah and Lester Ravsten entertained at their home on Sunday with a birthday dinner in honor of their son, Joe. Guests were Maretta and Larry Ravsten and family, Thatcher; Lola and Ginton Ravsten and family, Carol and Danny Ravsten and family, Wendy Christensen, Thatcher and Denise Shelton of Salt Lake Gty. Margaret and Ira Jardine and daughter Nancy spent three days last week in Yellowstone Park. Venice and Paul Pederson of Paul, Idaho, were Saturday overnight guests at the home of her father James H. Jardine. Leah and Lester Ravsten has received word that their grandson Leslie M. Ravsten, son of Lola and Ginton Ravsten will arrive home on Thursday night after spending three months working on the church pineapple farm in Hawaii. Kathryn Godfrey and Margaret Godfrey attended a miscellaneous shower on Wednesday night at the home of Sheila Potter in Hyde Park in honor of Cathy Downs. Judy Chambers and children Debbie, Thomas, Pamela and James were Tuesday overnight visitors at the home of her mother. Mary Buttars. The Chambers have been living in Ogden but moved on Sunday to make their home in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Chambers left for Denver earlier than his family to start work at his new position. Literary Club Meets The Newton Literary Gub held their summer social at Juniper Inn in Smithfield on Thursday afternoon. Those that enjoyed a special afternoon of a dinner and socializing with club members and guests were: Mildred Sutherland, Hazel Rigby, Nola Jerkins, Gwen Salisbury, Shirley Petersen, La Gene Griffin, Marvel Cooley, Aud- - son-in-la- Kathryn and Evan Godfrey spent the weekend in Idaho. Betty Thompson of Ogden and her daughter Joyce Spraks of Garden Grove, California, visited on Monday with her sister-in-laElva Ravsten and with Afton Ravsten. they also attended the funeral services of Martha Goodey. Elaine Brailhwaite, daughter of Lois and Neldon Braithwaite of Ogden is spending 10 days visiting with her aunt and uncle Erma and DeVerl Thompson and with other relatives.
