They were gone three days. Over 150 relatives from all over the western states attended the reunion at the Afton A Gty Park. genealogy meeting was and a program given. Sunday morning they all attended Priesthood meeting and Sunday School. Area Youths Win At Dairy Seminar Extension. Bill University Wright, Orem dairyman and chairman, U.S.H.A. Youth Committee, was in charge. The winning group included Helena and Mark Yardley, Gunnison; David and girls- from throughout Utah, coming from dairy families that prefer the black and white breed of dairy cows, received two days of instruction at the recent Utah State Registered Holstein Dairy Youth Seminar in Spanish Fork. The seminar was conducted at Brigham Young University Dairy Farm in Spanish Fork. It was sponsored by Utah State Holstein Association, BYU, and Utah State Boys - Roberts, Henefer; Ralph Mickelson, Lewiston; and bara and Leon Hill in Kyle Anderson, Newton. The baby was born July 1, 1975, in Phoenix. He has a brother, Todd and two sisters Carrie and Catherine. Following the meeting din- ner was served to the Langford family, the Hill family and grandparents, June and Ralph Langford of Rupert, Pleasant and John Bjerre-gaarMayfield. Van and Linda Martin and 18 Valinda, daughter, months, are moving to Park Gty where Mr. Martin will served as Gty Planner for Park Gty. He has been the Cache County Planner and she has been a member of the board of adjustments for Smith-fiel- d Gty. Mr. Martin is originally from Cornish and Linda from Los Angeles. Dixie and Burnal Hillyard drove to Denver, Colorado, to visit their son, wife and family, Dallene and Monte Hillyard. They were gone four days. The Monte Hillyards are enjoying their new home and he has just been' made the new merchandising manager for Woods Lumber Yard. Dallene is the office manager of computer billing for Fashion Bar, a chain store. Margaret and Gess Olney and daughter Robyn of Blackfoot, Idaho, visited his parents Annis Olney of Smithfield and Roy Olney at Sunshine Terrace. Idaho. The Jim Langfords plan on a two week visit. Everyone sat on the floor on pillows in the banquet hall and enjoyed a fine evening of entertainment. We wish to welcome new- comers Debra and Terry Lee Goodsell and son, Jeffery Lee into the Newton Ward. Terry and Debra formerly lived in Logan. Debra is from Preston originally. Her parents are Mark and Joan Johnson. Terrys parents are Lawrence and Beth Goodsell of Newton. They are living in the Cooley apartment. We want to welcome Ro- bert Gyde and Joyce Benson and children, Lori Ann and Michael Robert, into Newton Ward. Clyde is the son of the late Kenneth Benson and Eva Benson. They are living in the family home. Gyde is employed with Brodrick and Howell Construction. They formerly lived in Orem. . The' first year Mia Maids gave a demonstration on hobbies. Those participating were Andrea Benson and Janis Goodsell. A clarinet solo was played by Susie Petersen accompanied by'. Andrea Benson. A comical reading was given by Kim Martin. The first and second year Bee Hive group presented a demonstration and skit on MIA camp. Visitors at the home of Lowell and Charlotte Jenkins have been their daughter, Lola and three children of Las Vegas. Also their daughter Sharron and children of Las Vegas are visiting here this week. i Sunday afternoon Susan, Marv, Michelle and Tina White of Grand Forks, North Dakota arrived at the home of their parents, Gordon and Leda Sutherland and family of Newton. They arrived just in time to attend a birthday dinner in honor of Susans . father. Also attending this occasion were Marsha and Van Jenkins and five children, Troy, Mamie, Corey, Monica and Melanie, Debra, Ann. and Ted Sutherland, all of Newton; Henry and Dini P. Sutherland of Logan, and Mildred Sutherland of Newton. An enjoyable afternoon was spent having dinner. A birthday cake along with gifts were presented to afternoon of visiting and taking pictures was enjoyed. Gordon also received birthday wishes by telephone from his sister, Lucille Miles in Salt Lake City and on Saturday from his sister, Liz from Roy, Utah. Susan and Marv will be visiting in Ogden and here this coming week. They will also be attending the wed-din- g of Marvs brother, Larry White in Ogden on Wed- nesday at the Ogden temple with other family members and friends. They will also visit Marvs family, the George and Ruth Whites in Ogden. While here they also spent a day at Lagoon with family members. They expect to spend two weeks in Cache Valley. Fleeta and Henry Jayne flew from Glen Dale, Maryland, to Utah to visit their new grandchild born to Bonnie and Larry Jayne of Smithfield. They stayed one week and got to sight see Bear Lake, Idaho, and Cache Valley besides seeing their grandson. Bonnie and Larry Jayne moved from Logan, July 15, into their new home 18 South-45East in Smithfield. On August ' 2, Bonnie's sister, Maureen Jones, was married to Ralph B. Carper of Annopolis, Maryland. They were married in the Presbyterian Church in Logan. Elsie and Joseph Clarke of Fountain Valley, California, visited the weekend with Bonnie and Larry Jayne. Those who visited Bruce included Patti and Susan Reese, Sandra Hendry, Judy Allen, Julia Gereaux, and Allan Cardon. Jeffrey Ballard, son of Lois and MelRoy Ballard, who recently returned home from an LDS Mission in Australia, will report his mission at Sacrament meeting on Sunday, Aug. 10, in the Benson Ward chapel. Dale Ballard, son of Veral and Bishop Kenneth Ballard, who has accepted a call to serve in the Canadian Mission will also be a speaker that same evening. Sacrament meeting is at 7:00 p.m. and all ward members, friends and relatives are invited to attend.
