Present Program Archibald group presented a program in Amalga Church house to the Young Marrieds at their supper-RanquFriday evening. Faye Rnskelley and daughter Beth and sons Robert and Ray enjoyed the M. Packer reunion up Oneida Station Friday. The reunion started at noon. Swimming was enjoyed in the lake and tubing down the narrows. A buffet supper was enjoyed by fifty. Mrs. Rnskelley also attended the N.T. Packer reunion in the Riverdale LDS church where games were played and a meeting and program enjoyed. A buffet style lunch was enjoyed by seventy. played Stake House. Dinner will lie served. An open house was held for Mrs. Florence Richardon on her 90th birthday. July 2R. 1974. Over loo relatives and friends attended. Refreshments were served to all on the front lawn of Mrs. Richardson's lawn. A beautiful birthday cake decorated with pink roses was on display. Many out of town relatives and friends came to celebrate the occasion. Allend Reunion Pearl and Earl Gordon of Smithfield and Janet and DeVere Adams and family of Fielding attend the Gordon reunion in Provo Canyon Saturday. A geneology meeting and program was enjoyed Everyone look their own lunch and shared it. The committee furnished drinks and watermelon. Over one hundred were there. Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon drove to Perry and enjoyed dinner with Erlene and W.L. Hedrick and family. Belle and Ken Kirk are happy over the arrival of their first grandchild. Calif, are vacationing in Cache Valley for two weeks. They are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bardo Bodily. Eddie's parents, and of Sharon's mother. Mrs. Godfrey who lives in Clarkslon. Dennis and Sue Thurgood and family, Hooper. Utah, were with the Bardo Bodily family over the weekend and will return for next weekend also. Wash, where they all left by plane for Ihe Hawaiian Islands for a weeks vacation. They had a glorious time visiting the different islands. Then on returning home to Portland. Ella. Parley and Tom visited for a week at the Mrs. Judy Hymas and two children Julie and Chuck, of Liberty. Idaho have been visiting with her mother Joy Jones of Newton. Milo Benson from Missoula. Mont., formerly of Newton. is visiting friends and family members in Newton. Ottensons and Cantwells New comers n. homes. Boy Scouts The Newton Blazer Boy Scouts went to Hull Valley. Franklin. Idaho for a three Day Camp. The first day day Paul Barker took them on a five mile hike. The second day president of the Primary. Peggy Salisbury took the hoys to classes in conservation, fish and wildlife management, first-ai- d and personal fitness. The third day Nancy Griffin took them to classes. The parents came up later for a chicken supper and fireside ceremony. The boys participating in this activity were. David Griffin. Marvin Casper, Fred Olsen. Todd Good-sel- l. Jed Fahricus. and Mark Clements. Joy Jones of Newton and Rose Lloyd of Iigan sisters i recently returned from a trip to Panama and the Canal Zone. They visited in the raniil zone with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Coombs, former residents of Riverside. Utah. Mr. Coombs is media specialist for the canal zone schools. On their way home they slopped for three days in Guatemala City. While they were in Guatemala they traveled to many interesting and exciting places of interest. They were gone for 15 days. Mr. and Mrs. Max (Linda) Jacobson and daughter. Jan are visiting with Lindas mother Joy Jones. The Jacobsons are residents of Las Vegas. Nev. They will 1 leaving on Tuesday for the Worlds Fair in Spokane. Wash. Visit Mother Newcomers in Ihe Newton Ward are Jeannene and Llovd Kendall and two children. Jeff and Leslie, formerly from IjOgan. They have moved in the home formerly owned by Jeannenes brother. Mike and his wife. Shar-m- n and family. Mike and Sharmn have moved across the street in the new home formerly owned by Milo Benson. Jeannene and Lloyd are self employed offering Kendall Catering Service for weddings, receptions, dinners. birthdays nr socials. Lloyd also is a horse trainer and horse shner. We all want to welcome them into our ward and town. Move To Idaho Fred and Faynne Rigby and son of Newton have moved to St. Anthony. Idaho, where he will he employed as manager of a dairy farm set up. We all wish them much success in their new endeavors. .I,ewis C. Smith of Newton attended the western states Natural Resources" convention at Albuquerque. New Mexico. He was one of five Utahans who represented the Utah Fish and Game Board. On Saturday Gordon's Sutherland's family honored him on his birthday with a family gathering. Those present to enjoy a luncheon and afternoon of visiting were. Leda. Henry. Debra. Ann and Ted Sutherland. Marsha. Troy. Marnie. Corey and Monica Jenkins. Also Bishnp Ray R. Johnson and his wife Norma of Sandv. Utah. Family Dinner On Sunday a family dinner was' also held in his honor with family members. Marsha and Van Jenkins and family, and Mildred Sutherland. his mother. Eunice T. Cooley is at the Ijigan LDS Hospital receiving special medical care. We all wish for her a speedy recovery and to be back home soon. Cleo and Lewis C. Smith and Norma Christensen attended the christening of their grandson and great grandson in Logan. Christi and Gene Needham named their son. Smith Edward. He was blessed and named by his father Gene. Christi and Gene had a family dinner in honor of Smith Edward following the meeting. Those present were Cleo and Lewis Smith. Mrs. S. E. Needham. Sunday Meeting Newton Ward Sacrament and testimonial meeting was held with Bishop Glen R. Benson conducting. He announced that the Newton Ward senior softball team had won all their games and would play for the region play off on Tuesday evening at Franklin and that the ward junior team had only lost one game and also would play in region games playing on Wednesday. Choir Sings During Sacrament meeting the ward choir sang. I Need Thee Every Hour." Opening prayer was given by Max Christiansen. Two babies were blessed the daughter of Gary and Sandy Goodsell was named Julie by her grandfather, Wesley Goodsell, assisted by father Gary Goodsell, great grandfather. Grover Goodsell, all of Newton: grandfather, Glen Boman of Preston, Idaho and assisted by the ward bishopric. The daughter of Larry and Lana Anderson was blessed and named Jennifer Lyn by Counselor Norvel R. Jones, assisted by Bishop Glen R. ' Benson and Counselor Jay Golden Rigby. There were two newly baptized members of the church confirmed. They were Christine Goodsell, daughter of Gary and Sandy Goodsell. She was confirmed by her grandfather. Wesley Goodsell. This was a special day for the Goodsell family by having their infant daughter blessed and their older daughter confirmed. Also being confirmed was John P. Jenkins, son of Paul and Joyce Jenkins.
